I checked their t&c's at time of ordering and could find nothing to diqualify my order for a pencil and free gift, if you have found something that does please enlighten my. otherwise I will be expecting my speakers as ordered and as promised by cust services albeit a little late but I can live with that. These kind of offers are EXACTLY what this site is about getting a little back when you can legitemately

Staples home page, reached from the first post on this thread, states:-

'This site is for business customers only, ordering goods for use in the course of their business'

I trust all the people whinging and whining and threatening to go to Watchdog ::) are all legitimate business users.

If you are a legitimate business user and you are worrying about paying £3.52 (or less) for a pen - couldn't your time be used more productively?

I remember not to long ago the Avon phone saga. Enticing customers with a free gift, but not expecting the huge demands as they compared the expected promotion based on another gift which was much cheaper.

Anyhow what relevance has this on this. Well they got away with it. Although they did give out some phones many customers my wife included didn't getanything. So whether Staples with honour this is debatable.

Yes, this was an offer that seemed too good to be true and we all went in two footed!

But...has ANYONE actually received a FREE gift regardless of how much spent to open the account???

If not surely that is the point! Otherwise we could all advertise FREE gifts with our business propositions and then claim them to be 'out of stock' or 'discontinued' when the orders come in.

Frankly, it's noy the £3.81 paid for 12 bic pens that I'm peeved about, it's the deceit and poor service received! The blatant lies and inconsistency of it all after reading all your postings! No Free gift or welcome pack for me I'm affraid.

Out of principle - Should we let them get away with it only for them to do it again. and again, and again?
