Im disgusted with it and the way I have been treat by staples, not only did I have to wait month for my order I also didnt receive my free gift and was put on hold for 20 mins just to be told that the free gifts were out of stock and that I will not be receiveing one. The 14 year old day release student also told me that the free gifts were out of stock when I placed my order.

I think trading standards would make a good meal out of this one too.

I will be the first person to complain to watchdog.

They enticed us to buy from there site with a promise of a free gift. Not only did they take forever to deliver the goods but also ripped us off by not sending out free gifts.

To all those that have been told that you will receive free gifts when they become available.......dont hold your breath.

I wouldn't bank on Watchdog sending the cameras round. It is after all only £3.52 and a little bit of a scam.

Pretty certain that there'll be a few grannies ripped off by a few grand that will be ahead of you on the Watchdog hit list.

Well I did enter through my business and am still confident Staples will come up with the goods.

As for watchdog well what can I say, how much nut is actually left if you use the sledgehammer?

I think people need to step back and take a deep breath. So the `free` sound system backfired and people haven`t got them. Cancel the order and move on. Charged for goods but not received ? Chase a refund as with all other purchases that go awry. But get Watchdog involved over the lack of free speakers is surely overkill. How would it go, `Dear watchdog, tried to get a set of speakers for free by going through a back door route but the offer has been swamped by applications or the company aren`t playing`. I don`t think you`d get much air time.
Stop, get refunds by the normal route and move on.

PS I know this will set the flames of anger going but hey, free world.

I placed an order but only for a ruler..total 3.69 which is why I think talk of watchdog is rubbish. If like you Debbie I had ordered more i would feel a lot different.

Agree,it was a legitimit offer which Staples should fulfil.
The people who placed the orders did nothing wrong,if Staples wanted a minimum spend to qualify for the speakers then they should have made it part of the t&c's.
But they did'nt.
