How to get the MSE £50 Hargreaves Lansdown Offer?

Yes, absolutely, that, along with there being no feedback along the journey that the offer had expired, has resulted in the confusion. If someone could apply in the evening of 23rd July and fund their account at 7 am the next day and later be told by HL that they missed the offer, it suggests a lot of others will be in the same boat.eskbanker said:
I suspect the issue was more at HL's end - it doesn't seem to be viable to work out from web archiving when they made it clear that the offer was fully subscribed, but it seems unlikely that they did so swiftly enough, or that this was fed back to MSE in adequate time to remove the offer there.masonic said:Oh yes, I'm possibly getting my weeks mixed up. So those who actually clicked the right link should have known there was a limit, and those claiming it wasn't stated were either mistaken or visited the page after it was finally removed.
I still maintain (as do others no doubt) that MSE should have made it clear in the email that the offer was limited though, rather than just including the somewhat self-serving 'MSE Blagged' qualifier....

I was going to close my account but I just realised I took a screenshot of the MSE offer terms on the HL website when I applied and it stated that the offer will be removed from the HL website once the 1000 threshold is met. In which case, I should have qualified. I'll send another message, see what they say.

I messaged HL, sent them the screenshot I took and questioned why I didn't qualify if the offer was still showing on the site when I applied. This is the reply:
I have investigated this further for yourself and can confirm you have qualified for the cashback offer.
You should receive an email confirming this today.
I apologise for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused.
What a mess. I'm pleased I didn't close the account now.0 -
That must've been where I saw the 1,000 limit I mentioned earlier. So if I don't get it, I'll have to raise the same questionsparky0138 said:I was going to close my account but I just realised I took a screenshot of the MSE offer terms on the HL website when I applied and it stated that the offer will be removed from the HL website once the 1000 threshold is met. I've been told today after messaging HL yesterday, that I have not qualified for the £50 loyalty bonus as emails were sent to all successful applicants on 26th July. I'm now waiting for my investment to increase back towards the original £100 before I request a sale of investment and the remaining funds transferred back to my nominated account. I'll have to take a hit and learn from the experience. As others have said on here, there was no indication during it, that my appolication would not qualify for the £50 and no communication afterwards, until I sent a secure message. If I'd known I was unsuccessful during the process I would not have invested. I wonder how many HL staff applied, or told their relatives/friends, before the MSE email went out, to apply?
Edit 09/08/2024
After a 3rd secure message sent 08/08/2024 I have received a secure message reply confirming that I will receive the £50 bonus as long as I don't stray from the offers T&C's. I've also received email 09/08/2024 confirming the same. Now just to wait 7 months after my £100 investment 🙂1 -
I don't think I have ever used HL. This thread suggests there is a nasty smell around this offer. I'll continue to steer away from any so called opportunities from them in the future.0

I've not had any confirmation email, so just chased them again after initial query received an ambiguous response. Turns out I have qualified.
Sounds like they're making it as they go along tbf1 -
Suit yourself, I've bagged a four figure sum from them very recently for transferring in. No complaints so far...subjecttocontract said:I don't think I have ever used HL. I wonder if ANYONE actually got the qualification email.sparky0138 said:I messaged HL, sent them the screenshot I took and questioned why I didn't qualify if the offer was still showing on the site when I applied. This is the reply:

With regards to the above, I didn't get the email I was supposed to get on the 5th so I sent them another message today and they told me to use their reply as official confirmation that I'd qualified.
So I'd advise everyone to enquire (especially if you definitely saw the offer on the HL website when you applied but were initially declined) and get them to confirm it one way or another via secure message.0 -
My confirmation email (the one that was meant to have been sent a couple of weeks back) came through today0
