I have just had an email from Bright saying that the DCC and Aclara have confirmed there is a comms problem with some meters and they are working on a fix.

Interesting. I just had an email from an Aclara Customer Support Manager saying "I’m not aware of an issue that came up in June but if you could provide specific details, I can look into it."

I expect Bright are in contact with tech people, who aren't renowned for keeping customer support updated.

PS If you're also suffering from this fault, would you like to post your details so I could add them to my table? The more, the merrier

A real surprise this morning: the Bright app retrieved and displayed all of the data that have been missing since 13 June. I haven't yet been able to download them, but since this is a very new development, I'm happy to wait for things to settle down.

[EDIT: The Bright data - 13 months' worth - can be downloaded from http://www.smarttariffsmartcomparison.org/home after signing in with the Bright email address and password. The format is very basic: Epoch timestamp in milliseconds, consumption in Wh.]

n3rgy still has nothing, so I may have to re-register with them to trigger a new start.

Are the rest of you now able to access the missing data?

No change either with Bright or N3rgy.

Meanwhile Octopus seems to have completely fallen to pieces since late July.  Export missing 27th, then missing four consecutive days 30th, 31st, 1st, 2nd. Consumption missing 17th, 31st, 1st.

Octopus has not only caught up but filled in the gap on the 17th as well. I'm guessing that was just an Octopus problem and unrelated.

A sort of update from Bright ..

"The DCC and Aclara have confirmed that there is an issue affecting some meters communicating with the Other User role (which is what we are in the smart metering ecosystem) and are working with us to identify the root cause and get things fixed.

The issue affects a number of people and all the Other Users"
  • Having the same problems as everyone else.  No data since June.
Going around in circles with EDF.  The are adamant that as they are recieving data that there is NO problem with the data.

When I mention other users they are basically say "tough not our problem" or ignore my email.

Its a multi rate Poylphase meter model SGM1433-B with WNC UBC-TN6 comms module.

    Only installed in February 2024

There's nothing EDF can do about it, the issue is between Aclara and DCC and affects only "Other Users" and not suppliers.

I thought I'd posted somewhere that my data started coming through again from both Bright and n3rgy last month, so clearly something's being done. The supplier can't really help, but the 'other users' probably can by pushing DCC to grease the squeaky wheels. Start squeaking!.
