Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, completed Wordle, can't find any line on Connections but not used any lives trying to create one....yet, eaten breakfast and I'm supping a brew.
Before I go to work I'll feed the birds, water the hanging basket, fill up the birdbath and the hedgehog's dish, and put out the recycling.
I'm struggling with anxiety at work which is carrying over into my evenings. They moved someone back into the office who I find an energy hoover. I thought it was me. I always think it's me! Until colleagues confirmed that they find her difficult too. I'm trying to find a level where we engage but only on a superficial level.....otherwise I become an unofficial therapist. But knowing that she's likely to accuse me of bullying is messing with my head. She has already been to the supervisor to complain that I'm working and not chatting!!! Supervisor told her to do the same.
In other news- still not heard anything about the data breach so I emailed the Caldicot Guardian and the Freedom To Speak Up Guardian. FTSU was straight on it. First update is new HR Manager has no details, so we're waiting for the HR manager who was dealing with the investigation to return from Annual Leave on Monday. I'm convinced they thought I'd give up and shut up....they don't know me very well. In my experience FTSU Guardian gets results. She uses the right words to open doors: like values, duty of candour, transparency, openness...you know all those words that you see on posters everywhere around the building!
And breathe .....
Stay cool. Stay hydrated. You are enough.

lol Round…you and i are definitely opposites when it comes to connections.., I did it in quick smart time with no lives lost, having first identified and ignored the red herrings. Well done on the Data Breach push.
We had Handlebards yesterday so it was a long day. On the plus side i now know how to make cream cheese frosting. Short shift today as they need to pick up the equipment, then i’ll come home.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all,
I actually can’t remember if I have checked in this week or not. Hot weather is messing with my brain. If I haven’t, thank you for the thread. If I have, thank you for the thread.
I’m working on Minimal Flying by Osmosis (MFO) here. That’s a thing, in case you didn’t know. HB flies, and I feel exhausted🤣. I think I’ve done diddley squat. I might have loaded the wm a couple of times and sorted dinner. I have been to work and been ridiculously busy by covering for a colleague’s holiday. She won’t come back to a backlog but unfortunately it doesn’t work the other way. Today I have swapped my non work day, as we are taking DD back to the big city for scans at 2 different hospitals. At least the consultant had the foresight to move both appointments to the same day. Still twot for 3 hours in the car.
Well done, Round, on not giving up. And by the way, it isn’t you 😘. In our small office I have a colleague who I suspect could pull an HR complaint card at the drop of a hat. I keep well away, professional conversation only.
Right. Hair has been washed. DH disappeared a while ago to see to the allotment. There is a hedge cutter going relentlessly at a neighbour’s, so someone is busy… I have an ironing pile, but is twot. You see, I am perfecting MFO 😉.5 -
I'm fortunate in that the all the bigger windows are on the north side of the house so it doeesn't feel that hot indoors unless you go past the French windows at the back or the kitchen door and I iron in my office, which is nowhere near the sun. We get reflected light from the houses opposite but this house stays remarkably cool, so I can't complain about the heat and the bright light is glorious We also have two basement bedrooms, which are the ones we usually let, so if we were too hot to sleep upstairs we could temporarily move down there - they're all made up and ready for guests so we could use them instantly. If this house weren't set up like this I couldn't contemplate doing what I'm doing, so if it helps you by osmosis Fayolle I'm delighted to be of benefit to you. I've also managed to shed 600g over the past two days and as I need to lose a kilo a week until late September to be svelt a bit less stout for an event I'm carrying on for as long as I can.Sofa covers have twirled so it's time to move some furniture to get at the other sofa to take its covers off, and get going. Later than the other days but it's all catching up with me a bit. Fingers crossed the weather stays hot because I need to the drying heat to get this lot done.Better is good enough.5

Your excellent deep cleaning salves our consciences, Honey_Bear - I can only say how delighted I am that none of my doors has a fancy surround
Talking of which, I really must put Aunt Kate's Head round the door frames and across the top of the roller blinds and shake the baby spiders out into the garden for an extended holiday!
So far today I have
- FUPA clean washing from 2 days ago
- put 3 white t-shirts with stubborn tomato stains into soak in a bowl of water with a scoop of 'Disappear'
- drunk 2 cups of tea and eaten a slice of toast and marmalade, in order to empty the sticky pot (which is now in the DW) and make the fridge look ever so slightly tidier
- rung the bank
- opened a new easy access, high interest account and started the money shuffle from my less generous accounts (the bonus in the new account only lasts for a year but is very much worth the trouble)
- scanned 3 lovely photos, taken by my mother at my aunt's 50th birthday party, which tell the story of little me pulling Auntie's hair and everyone falling about laughing
- had breakfast, showered and dressed
- S&S'd the kitchen and bathroom
- hoovered through downstairs
- brought Aunt Kate's Head upstairs to annoy the spiders.
To do:
- CS donation of some good but old curtains which have been in the loft for ?? years
- local shopping - food, pharmacy, card shop
- gardener coming at 1pm
- water DDiL1's plants by their front door and put out their bin for collection tomorrow
- send 2 e-cards
- shorten some pyjamas in the hope that the warm weather will continue.
Best get moving then.
Hope the scans are good today, Fayolle xx
Keep cool, Flyfriends! xxx

Had to rewash the first sofa cover because it just wasn't clean enough. It wasn't that bad but grit had got caught up in the folds in the machine and it's too big to shake out so I figured another run through wouldn't be a bad idea. I then had to wrestle the cushion covers off, a job I really struggle with, and they're now also on the line, plus a bucketfuls worth of dusters. I'm slowing working my way through washing all of the 'ornaments' ie Belovéd's pet gibble and not too gently encouraging him to rethink whether stuff goes back where it was or is donated. The donation pile is growing. The large black cat has fashioned a bed for himself outside on the sofa cover which is draped over a line and supported by a clotheshorse kind of affair. It will be clean but covered in black hair when its dry. We've moved a heavy piece of furniture so that I could clean behind it. It's been there for at least 15 years and it was beyond grim. I had to wash the walls too, which doesn't do the lining paper any good at all but that room is bad in a lowkey kind of way and I'd really like it to be properly clean. Too much stuff to make me ever want to dust regularly in there, three sofas (one each to stretch out on including the dog's) a coffee table, a bureau, the TV stand, a coffee table, an occasional table and other assorted lumps that are all far to heavy for me to move easily. I've concentrated on the bureau corner for a couple of hours and it's now sparkling but I'm too bushed to wash the carpet area which needs to be done before I can move on.Having a bit of a rest.Better is good enough.4

Another hour and a half done, with bits finished off that needed doing to take the spring cleaning forward but I'm done for the day. I'm at the Foodbank tomorrow morning so Flying will have to wait until I've finished there at the very earliest. I rather suspect I've reached my limit for this week, so the dining room can be put back together tomorrow or Friday and half the sitting room will be put back together and I'll leave the rest for a few days until I've got some energy back.

My friend, Sh, zipped through Connections and said it was easy peasy. I got there in the end - no lives lost, but it made my brain hurt. You must all be yangs. I'm a ying. 😊
Just squeezed a shower in after gymnastics and before swimming. Watching, not doing! Quickest shower ever 🤣
I put out the bin and refilled the hedgehog's dish when I arrived home. Had a busy but pleasant day at work. They do happen occasionally 😉
Keep cool. Love to all.
