I'm not disputing that. One of the risks of opening a cash ISA with a brand new provider and then jumping ship in such a short space of time is that some providers won't have had time to update their systems with the details of said new provider. But now you have an explanation for why your transfer was carried out via cheque. This actually should be viewed as a bonus, as electronic transfers involving Virgin Money are a regular cause of angst, some taking months.Northern_Wanderer said:
Well Cynergy were not able to do the transfer because I asked them specifically. T212 wasn't on the Virgin Money list but I filled in the separate manual form.masonic said:The list at Cynergy is not up to date. Chip Financial, for example, is also missing from their list.If you read through the forum, you'll see that Virgin Money has problems with transfers from other providers, even major high street banks like Barclays.

Done several transfers to and from Virgin Money and never had any issues with them or anyone else for a transfer or the online account. Might depend which sort-code you have with VM as I think they are still using at least three different systems. Perhaps just been lucky with tranfers, however, never had an experience with the website as I have had with Trading 212. But I will "try" to shut up nowmasonic said:I'm not disputing that. i am told trading 212 will only accept ISA transfers electronically and will not allow cheques.how can i transfer from my current provider if they only transfer with cheques? i cannot transfer my cash isa into my current account and then forward it on because it will loose it`s isa wrapper!0

Transfer it first to an Isa provider that accepts incoming transfer cheques and can also transfer out electronically and then transfer that to T212.Abertawe25 said:i am told trading 212 will only accept ISA transfers electronically and will not allow cheques.how can i transfer from my current provider if they only transfer with cheques? i cannot transfer my cash isa into my current account and then forward it on because it will loose it`s isa wrapper!1 -
Speaking about 2FA does 212 allow you to configure two authenticator, so you can have it on more than one device? I don't have any issue with authenticator as such, it's more a concern about being locked out if my phone is out of service for any reason.1

Yes, I use Authy as my 2FA with T212 - it is able to work on more then one device.0

I have my 2FA app on my mobile and tablet - I can log into T212 with either. I could also install 2FA extensions on my browser or smart watch too.Qyburn said:Speaking about 2FA does 212 allow you to configure two authenticator, so you can have it on more than one device? I use Twilio Authy for this (plenty of others are available). You'll need a 2FA app that's multi device and can sync between them.0 -
Yes, the website is hopeless - meaningless icons, difficult to navigate, lack of information.Northern_Wanderer said:
Trading 212 help pages say you don't need to use an Authenticator app if you have verified your device as far as I remember.booneruk said:
I suspect people who refuse to engage with perfectly safe and anonymous authenticator apps create problems for themselves. People would also be crying if their online platform made no effort to be secure.
I appreciate some people never clear their cookies, but other people don't like being followed around and often clear cookies. I assume that is what happened but not 100% sure. I'm not bemoaing about it, just seems a bit rediculous that you should have to verify your device every time you log in, kind of defeats the purpose. So Trading 212 might want to find a different method.booneruk said:
Clearing cookies and then bemoaning that your 'trusted device is no longer trusted' is bonkers too. Cookies are one of the few ways of persisting a state (such as being logged in and trusted) on the web.
Yes I think it's that Trading 212 is geared towards the app, and aren't really catering for the website user. Their help pages and agent responses all talk about the app. But they do provide web access so should work properly.booneruk said:
Though I've only ever used the website a few times. 95% of my interaction is via the app.0
