Trading 212 2FA

I have, previously, always been able to access my account by entering my password, However, just now I tried to log in and they sent back a reply saying "Verify it's you. Enter the code we sent to your 212 trading account on Edge".
I haven't got Edge, whatever that may be, and they seem to be asking me to go to my account in order to get the code I will need in order to enter the account??? Tricky.0 -

Tricky.Exactly, then if you click 'lost access to trusted device' you are requested to make a silly video.I cant get the video to work anyway and i have camera permissions enabled.0 -
I'm all for additional security, but when changes are made they should, when you next log in, take you through the process required to get updated. I've done this with numerous banks etc, but this lot seem to have just closed the door and left it for me to discover the elusive holder of the magic key to re-admittance.
I wonder if they have a games room at 212 where the techies place bets on their customers to see who can breech their labyrinth defences first, or who will take the longest, or, most probably, who will die of exasperated exhaustion before they can reach El Dorado.0 -
I'm very confused with the "authentication code being sent to Firefox/Chrome" thing - this appears to be something very different to the standard pattern of operation of authenticator apps that require NO incoming data to operate.
I suspect people who refuse to engage with perfectly safe and anonymous authenticator apps create problems for themselves. People would also be crying if their online platform made no effort to be secure.
Anyway, I see the same 'story of woe' repeated in several threads here. No money was lost. 14 days is a fast ISA transfer time, so hardly the biggest ISA fail or worst banking experience in history. Any problems with transferring have been due to deficiencies with the new provider (with transfers out of T212 evidently being 'possible' rather than 'impossible' as claimed).
Clearing cookies and then bemoaning that your 'trusted device is no longer trusted' is bonkers too. Cookies are one of the few ways of persisting a state (such as being logged in and trusted) on the web.
I don't know if I was just lucky, I've had absolutely no problems with any part of my T212 experience. Silky smooth and a great app. Those with the biggest gripe (justified or not) tend to shout the loudest.
Though I've only ever used the website a few times. 95% of my interaction is via the app.

All 2-factor issues are solved by using an authenticator app on your phone. I use the Google one. It's laughably easy.2 -

Recently i used to be able to log in and see all my accounts but unable to withdraw until entered some code sent to chrome which i'm not even using. Now i cant even log in! And they want a video of me.ThenthenI'll be transferring out too, luckily i have previously made a note of the trading 212 account numbers associated with my accounts. The thing is, when you request a transfer, Trading 212 will send you a message asking you to log in to your account and verify the transfer. Now despite my issues with not being "verified" any more, I was still able to log in and complete the form a few days ago. This doesn't seem possible now if you can't log in.I noticed last week that there was a message in my account stating they were going to change the log in method. I wouldn't have noticed that if I hadn't gone looking for it. They never sent an email about it which I though was a bit pants.Looks like I made my transfer just in time.0

Good riddance Trading 212 - my worst banking experience ever. Now to email them to ask them to close my Trading 212 account and online account as I can't do it from their website as I would need the ghost code that they sent to firefox that I don't ever recieve and they're customer service can't explain why or even understand what I mean.....
Virgin Money. Trading 212 does not appear to be part of the BACS Electronic ISA Transfer Service, I suspect that is why it can be bothersome to transfer out of Trading 212 if the receiving bank only uses that service. No they don't. You won't find them listed on a drop down list of the requesting provider. That's why you have to do the manual form. This is from Cynergy:"We can only accept Cash ISA transfers into our Online ISA from providers that subscribe to the BACS Electronic ISA Transfer Services. If your current ISA provider is not on the list, they may not subscribe to this service. This is to ensure our ISA transfers can be managed and transferred into your new account as quickly as possible.
We do not currently accept paper transfer application requests."

The list at Cynergy is not up to date. Chip Financial, for example, is also missing from their list. It is no reflection on new ISA providers when a small number of old ones don't keep their info up to date.If you read through the forum, you'll see that Virgin Money has problems with transfers from other providers, even major high street banks like Barclays. The fact your transfer completed as smoothly as it did should be viewed as a success. Hopefully you'll not have too much bother on the way out either.0 -
