Second load pegged out. Jeans from first load are nearly dry already.
Now sat in front of my fan. Chugging ice cold lemonade 😋

Poppet walked, dailies done. I've been prepping what I can for picnic tomorrow. Need to go in cupboard of doom next for cool boxes. In theory this should be straightforward given all my tidying in there last weekend.Spend less now, work less later.6

I bought Belovéd a pile of Just William books for Christmas from a secondhand bookshop around the corner. We've both found they work best if you read them in a Martin Jarvis voice. The amazing thing is that for books written in the 1930s they hold up nearly a hundred years later, too.I need to bubble wrap a whole load of stuff that's been hanging around on the dining room table for over a week, and then list the bird feeding gibble that's been under it for the past week.I forgot when I was thinking about the kitchen's spring clean that we also have five wall cupboards and two sets of shelves. They've been added to the list of stuff that hasn't been done. Very little has been done actually.Better is good enough.6

I have made good progress this morning, particularly as I now have a good system for sorting photos:
- emptied an under-the-bed storage box which was full of mainly enlargements and sorted them by category (paternal ancestral line, maternal line, my parents, me, my half-siblings, my children, and my grandchildren), to add to what I had done earlier in the week. It's actually beginning to look organised!
- decided that I will eventually throw out all the negatives, unless DD wants them (a big box full)
- discussed holiday with DH: at last we have a decision - with a bit of compromise on both sides
- texted L to give her firm dates for Rosie to stay with her
- S&S'd the kitchen *and* mopped the floor
- hoovered through downstairs
- FUPA towels and bath mats that I had washed yesterday
- S&S'd the bathroom
- removed printouts of certain digital photos which I had blutacked to the top of the c-o-d in my study and binned them (change of plan for photobooks)
- hoovered upstairs
- emptied the kitchen and study bins.
We are going to the travel agents this afternoon (must remember to take my passport) and I also need to visit MrAl to do a food shop for the coming week. Or maybe I'll go to MrT for a change, as we shall probably park there.
After a bright and hot start it's gone cloudy but still very warm here
Have a great weekend, everyone xxx
Pigpen, are you still getting a day off tomorrow?7 -
Pouring with rain here but I did manage to get the grass cut this morning before it started. Luckily I got all caught up with washing yesterday. Cleaned the bathroom and toilet too and swept and washed the kitchen floor. That'll do.

Cloth_of_Gold said:BTW Natty, I know this is a flylady thread but cleaning your garden veg with soap and water is beyond the call of duty. You'll be dusting the grass next.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Still waiting for sunshine, definitely not twot here. Breezy and constantly threatening rain.
I went to the allotment for a couple of hours, in mizzle for a lot of the time. Planted a few left over sorry looking plants plus some leeks. Harvested new potatoes, chard, spinach and a bag of sugar snaps.
This afternoon I have flown downstairs. Dusted and vacuumed throughout and moved gibble to its proper place. Not sure why nobody else can do that but after 30 years of wondering, I have given up the thought. Most of the time. I haven't touched the kitchen as DD is threatening to make chocolate cake.
DH has been cutting the front hedge, so that has taken care of filling the green bin ahead of collection day next week.
Natty, nice to see you on the greenfly thread
Iona - how exciting - a holiday that involves a passport
Narc0, if you are reading, have a hug as I suspect you need it.3 -
It wasn't as warm to day but was very humid so didn't feel much better really. Not mcuh flying done - just S&S in the kitchen and emptied the kitchen bin and took the bag, and a bag of recycling, down to the bins. I popped to the shops for a couple of bits and also went to the 12.15 service. Have made supper and am now about to wash up.@Honey_Bear I much prefer older literature. I often find that contemporary literature, like contemporary films and TV dramas, is too 'gritty' for my taste. I mean, for example, in real life is does everyone go around swearing like troopers? When I watch films from the 40s or 50s I never think to myself, 'this would be so much better if everyone were effing and blinding and the violence were not suggested but graphically portrayed'. I don't think I'm a prude but all this sort of thing seems to me to add nothing and is just what the makers assume people expect - and maybe most people do these days.8

Morning everyone.
Busy few days. Went out on the bikes with cycling friends yesterday and did 39.72 miles. I was tempted to cycle around the village until I hit 40 miles but it was too hot
The I ran the hoover around before calling to see parents as my brother and family were there.
It's cooler this morning, not sure what the plan is. I have a nice lightweight coat that I wear for work and noticed it was grubby around the collar so have chucked that in the machine.
Tomorrow I have a review with the NHS team who are running the stress control course I am doing. It's helping a little but I am still very anxious. We shall see.
Have a good Sunday all x8
