I've fed the birds, put out the recycling, and WUDUPA.
P & S called for coffee and left with a bag of books to return to P's sister.
DS just phoned for a chat 😍.

Sorry, late again. Thank you for the lists, I probably won’t dent them but the intention desire is there.
Put a towel wash on before I went to work. Left work at lunch time to go with DD for a hospital appointment. They were running really behind, so we didn’t get back until gone 6pm. Dinner assembled, eaten and cleared away. Bedding changed so the wm can be put on tomorrow before I go to work, swapping my day off to squeeze in another hospital appointment for my girl.
Absolutely torrential here atm. Towels are still on the wet side of damp, hanging indoors all day. It’s not boding well for getting more washing dry tomorrow.
Thinking of all those fretting about returning to work after a week off…5 -
washing dried on the line…I think there was a shower.
Rather thrilled to see the library I used as a child on BBC news… RIP Jay

Thank you Honey Bear6 -
- almost finished latest (last) report; just have to put recommendations and check it over so will definitely be sent off tomorrow. Interrupted by Mum ringing in tears as she was lonely. I reassured her that she had at least 2 visitors due today and tomorrow.
- continued my comparison spreadsheet of care homes.
- liaised with various of Mum's friends. One (one of today's visitors) messaged me to say Mum had been moved to a different ward and they were playing Abba songs.......hopefully that cheered her up and it won't degenerate into another patient's birthday party with 6 children singing and dancing on the ward (in my day it was 2 visitors per bed!).
- had a long chat with the daughter of my friend in a care home to see if she had any hints.
- ditto DB to exchange info.
- went to zumba, first time in ages which was good.
- pruned a large convoluted hazel and did some weeding.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok today.
Yesterday I was busy with the DGDs so only kept on top of basics. However it was a lovely warm day - we even had the paddling pool out - so I managed to get almost all the washing dry.
Today:
Dailies
Walk Poppet
Freshen sofa throws
Admin including call to bank
Exercise class
Meeting up with friend later afternoon
Tennis match tonight except I think it will be rained off
Change bedding
Anything else I can find time for.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morning all xx
Is it just me or is that the theme to Jaws playing in the background? Thank you Fayolle 😘. Big girl knickers are on!
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast, completed Wordle and Connections, and supped a brew. Morning reading went straight out of the window - maybe it will be evening reading on work days. 🙄
It's tipping down here.
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off.
I didn't hear back from the job I applied for.
Nor have I heard anything from ICO. So I'll be chasing them this week. And if they can't help me I'm going to a data protection solicitor: no win, no fee. What I'm not going to do is shut up and go away.
And breathe....
I'd really rather stay at home but I need the money so I'm going.
Have a good day.

Morning all.
Go for it, Round x
Posivibes and (((hugs))) for your DD's appointment today, Fayolle xxx
So far this morning I have
- updated finances to allow for spending ££ on two original 1850s legal documents relating to my 3xgt-grandmother Emily. She inherited property from her father, but because she was married it was deemed to belong to my 3xgt-grandfather; however, if he wanted to dispose of it, she still had to confirm to the Court that she was not being forced into anything and fully consented to the sale. Thank heavens for the Married Women's Property Act of 1882!
- put the kitchen bins out for emptying
- cleaned the kitchen, including mopping the floor (which I didn't get round to yesterday).
I was going out with a friend for coffee today, but I had a message from her early this morning to say she was unwell, so we have postponed the trip. I still have plenty more flying and photo sorting to keep me occupied.
It poured for much of the night, but now we have a short reprieve and the sun has just appeared. More rain is forecast later, so I had better take Rosie out very soon, or we shall come back looking like drowned rats.
See you later xxx

All the best Fayolle.
Today is evolving fast. This morning DB messaged me the good news that Mum has been found a place in what sounds a bit like a cottage hospital-type rehab centre. It is an NHS funded place for up to 6 weeks where she will continue to receive therapy and support, with assessment to gauge progress and plan for what type of provision she needs next, whether it be returning home with support or moving elsewhere. It is within a few miles of her house, so her friends can easily visit her. Fingers crossed she is happy there, and it will at least give DB and I a few weeks to recover as well. She moves tomorrow, so as Mr N and I were already planning to go down this evening and stay till Sunday, that will enable us to help move her and get settled in for the first few days.
Gym swim and coffee with the 'girls' which was lovely as I haven't seen them for 6 weeks.
Finished and emailed my last report.
Had yet another phone discussion following a ridiculous email about my uni pension. I think I have finally spoken to a person who understood and told me exactly what I needed to do to correct the "misunderstanding and miscommunication" between the uni HR and the pension scheme which has lasted over a year.
Now I need to help Mr N cook some early tea to have before our journey down south. I don't need to pack as I haven't unpacked much since I came home on Thursday. Need to water greenhouse etc.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
all washing ironed and airing; swim stuff finishing drying on other airer.
