Hi all I'm Tashawasha's Mum. Thank you all for all the help you gave her when planning this trip.
They all arrived safely and everyone is happy with their choice of Hotels - except Tasha who was at the Excalibur. Apparently the 20$ trick didn't work for them and they were given a twin room instead of a King. Being moved to a King room today. They also find it very noisy from the cars. Having seen the Mirage promotion which has gone on sale today I just phoned to tell them. They have checked out of Excalibur and going up to the Mirage to see if they can get this promotion, if not I will book it on line for them.
My other daughter is raving about Treasure Island and the wedding pair can't believe how luxurious the Venetian is.
Hi,
Can you give me some info on the new Mirage deal please?
We've booked to go in July but are now toying with going in April now as I think the high temperatures in July would spoil it for us.
Also, have any of you huys flown with Thomas Cook or Airtours from Manchester recently? Are they still using the planes with the standard smaller legroom? According to their brochure this is supposed to change in May to a standard 33 inch seat pitch.
Thanks0 -
Aprilyour old camera certainly does take a great pic. . keep them coming , they brighten the board up
i don't think Tashawasha asked for opinions on the Excalibur , but i would have warned her against it. The Imperial Palace would have been a better starting point , but she has ended up at the Mirage which i'm sure will she will like. she won't have any problems with car noise there . Excalibur has a huge parking lot ( so big it has shuttle bus to get you to the Castle ) so that and the fact it on the Crossroads of the world may have contributed. i never had problems staying opposite Exaclibur with road noise , so may be the age and construction of the Trashy Castle  .
hope she has funBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

Thanks Photome.
The Mirage front desk couldn't give them the promo rate so I have just booked it on line for them and text over the reservation number. They will be checking out of Excalibur tomorrow so will still have 5 nights at the Mirage. She was on such a tight budget that even with the knowledge that Excalibur wasn't in the same league as the other hotels still went ahead. I last visited Vegas in 1996 and could not get her to undestand how vast it is and how different the hotels are. Albeit when we were there quite a few hadn't even been built! As most of the wedding party (12) are at the Venetian, (4) at Treasure Island, (2) at Pallazzo they walked for 45 minutes from Excalibur last night to meet up with them and took a cab back for 15$. She realised that they would have to do this everyday (maybe twice a day) and so the cheaper price at Excalibur when adding on the taxi fares wasn't quite so cheap. She hasn't as yet sussed out the bus. So one now very happy bunny.

Looks like you have sorted it for her..well done!
I think one of the hardest things to get across to people who havent been is the SHEER SIZE of Vegas and the distance inside one hotel, never mind the distance between them. She will def be happier now0 -

The wedding is on monday at the Little Chapel. I have the log in details but does anyone know if I can watch a live streaming, the wedding is at 2p.m.Vegas time, or do I watch afterwards.
Thanks0 -
AprilYou def need to go to Vegas to understand what it is like. A Good lesson learned. She probably wouldn't have listened to anyone but is sooooo excited as seen the white tigers on her visit to Mirage today.

Thanks
is it the little white wedding chapel???. we got married there
i think you can log on and watch it live , it then stays on the site for about a month. you cannot save the video to your computer and they don't save the tapes , so be sure they get a copy there , if they want one.
of course 2pm there will be midnight ( or is 11pm until the clocks spring forward ) here .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
It is the Little Chapel of Flowers. Looking at the international time calculator I am hoping it will be 9p.m. here. Will sit with a box of tissues and hopefully see my 2 girls in the background.0

Hi,
just back from Las vegas and just remember to search out details of something I saw when I was there, but I didn't go to as I didn't know what it was......SHOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We passed "Town Square" on the Duece bus, heading south on the strip, passed the Luxor and towards the outlet centre. I thought it sounded suspiciously like SHOPS!!!! but my DH said if it was, I would of known before we went. I thought that was quite a valid point so never argued, just wondered.
Here;s the link to the website http://www.townsquarelasvegas.com/go/dirlisting.cfm?fl=all
I am still working on my trip report, which will follow soon, perhaps an abbreviated version though otherwise I may take up too much space.:rotfl:
