Oh Great, what with the obligatory photo in Disney World in front of the Castle which we take every year, I will now have to take a Picture under that sign!!! :T

  • Wow, I haven't visited this thread in a little while but it's really taken off! Shows you the dividends of good time spent to put together a nice write-up! There was one thing that I thought could be neat to add to the review.

When talking about things to do, there is mention of the Grand Canyon, but the good ol' Hoover Dam seems to be overlooked (unless I missed it?). Now I know what a lot of you folks across the pond are thinking, "Why in the world would I ever want to see a wall of concrete?!?" Welllll good question! haha. Actually, the Hoover Dam is a pretty neat sight to take in. Yes it's a wall of concrete, but it's GIGANTIC. HUGE! ENORMOUS!! What's more, is that there are a bunch of companies that offer tours (including transportation) and they're all pretty reasonably priced. Not only that, but unlike the Grand Canyon, the event only takes an afternoon or so.

In the end, you don't have to be a structural engineer to enjoy a visit to the Hoover Dam. While it likely isn't on your top list of things to do in Vegas, if you have a bit of extra time, give it a chance.

redrichie , my younger daughter has a similar tat to yours , but without the wording. We took her to Vegas for her 21st so she had a 2 and a 1 put on the dice.

Hoover Dam is huge - there is a programme on History Channel if you can catch it about how it was built, and how many people (100+) died building it.

Its less than an hour away by car.

    Heres a photo

  • This is my last chance to get online before I leave, I have loads I need to do tommorrow... including go with my eldest daughter to the hospital where she is getting a scan at 34 weeks pregnant (checking due date!) I am so delighted at getting to see my new grandchild in a scan, perhaps we will find out whether I need to buy pink or blue baby clothes in vegas!!! :T

I also have 2 children off school sick so I need to get them well & healthy before I leave them with my Mum & Dad on saturday morning. :o

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
