Hrmmmm I've used my debit card to book show tickets at MGM without issue on-line and used debit card that is "only" Visa electron to pay for hotels in Vegas numerous times. So long as it has the Visa electron or mastercard (not maestro) you should be fine.
You can use your Mum's card to book and when you produce a different card t check in they will likely refund the deposit off your Mum's card nd chrge your card the lot.
This might be one of the instances when using a third party has some advantages. Check out what Vegas.com are charging for your dates and if it is more read up on their price guarantee.

That last line implies it has already been taken off to me

I agree that it's a bit odd to include the bold line - but I know others have used the 3 for 2 deals at MGM (so same group) and it is deducted at check-out...since the terms also say that, I don't think they could get out of deducting one of the nights.

Finally booked the MGM grand direct with them for 152 for Nov 26/27/28

They were happy to take my debit card after all that but I did have to phone them to make sure

I suspect youll need a credit card when you check in in order to charge anything to the room.....phone calls, food, spa etc

Yeah I think so too, but to be honest I doubt we would really charge much to the room.

Ive asked for a credit card from my bank ( they declined me) and OH has also applied for one- but he just closed his down a year or so ago. Heres hoping one of us gets one

They will take a certain amount over and above the room cost at check in anyway. Not usually a big issue so long so you know to expect it

Brian Lojeck runs WBTALV. It is a fun board. We met with several members in May/June and had a great time. Also met Historian again last week.
