MayJust received an email from Expedia Australia about a Delta flight we have in April returning from LAS to LHR via Atlanta. Seems as though they are cutting back on flights and we were origionaly leaving Vegas at 2:50pm, getting into Atlanta at 9:40, then return to London at 10:40pm.
They now want to change our flight to leaving LAS at 11:40pm!!! getting into ATL at 6am the next morning and staying there till the next Heathrow flight at 10:30pm that night. As they say down pit "no bloody chance".
I have printed out the available flights LAS-LHR with Delta and there are loads of options, not just via ATL. Actually most of them leave us more time to make the connection as well. I will wait till they contact me and run it past them. Expedia are trying to take the path of least resistance, or so they think.
This will impact on our flight in May as well because we have the same schedule. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

I have had a similar issue with United (who generally I am very pleased with) they moved me off of a flight via SFO and put me on one via IAD I dont like long internal flights and the IAD flight had no backseat entertainment system so I elected to leave a day earlier. They had since changed me interals both ways which is just a few hours here and there but now I want to change one of my internals by 2 hours they are telling me that they want to charge me for this which I think seems a little unfair andf have written to say that. Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -
Aprilwe stayed a stones throw away at The Hollywood Hills Hotel. you should have little to worry about around here , especially in daylight hours.
i recommend Cantors Deli near by for a great LA diner breakfast , be a tad more careful around it in the dark though.

I haven't tried it myself, but my understanding is that it should be OK in theory unless the hotel requires an imprint of the card. Also, many hotels will put a hold on the card used to secure the booking for the regular hotel charges plus an amount per day for incidentals...it can be a significant amount at some hotels and since those funds are essentially held to the side for the hotel if they need them, you wouldn't be able to access those funds. There are ways around this at some hotels - so if it's an issue, worth looking into beforehand. You seem to be saying you would only be using it for hotel so it may be that it wouldn't be a problem for you to have a hold on more than the expected cost of the hotel - but not sure what would happen if you didn't have enough in the account to cover the hold in full? It really may depend on the specific hotel.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Best of luck to you...I would be a ranting, raging mess right about now so well done for being so calm about it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Its the Bellagio we have stayed in vegas 5 times before and have never asked for it, but last time some friends where asked so just want to be on the safe side. I have been told that they will charge $130 per night for 7 nights so its no problem. I can transfer money onto my Visa Debit card but its a bit of a hassle as its a business account.0 -

I was at Venetian for 3 days, I had already prepaid the first night deposit a while ago, but they still put a block of £440 on my card.
I am now at the Signature, which was prepaid in full through Expedia, I have a block of £230 on my card
Also the blocks can take up to a week after checking out to clear from your account.
I havent tried using Electron card to check in though, just for withdrawing cash from ATM's.0 -

Might be worth calling before they get around to you so you get decent seat assignments too. Probably worth trying Delta direct either by phone or though online support on www.delta.com.
Pity about that connection as it's a nice one-I'm booked on it too in DecemberI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
