Thanks t-elle - i have booked it for hubbies 30th b'day..... helicopter & limo... beat that ehhh

Did you have to pay the 40$ fuel supp on the day - Hoping that due to the price of oil dropping they are no longer applying this(wishful thinking me thinks:rolleyes: )

Yes, $40 each as soon as you arrive at the airport AND even if you put in passenger weights when booking, they weigh everyone again (Not with flashing numbers! it is kept private thank goodness!!!) I guess to distribute the weight across the helicopters.

Wow thats a fair whack....$40 each.....tiny print on the booking page generally but I wasnt expecting that much.

What about the other companies that fly there......I can think of Scenic, GCA, Pappilon.....how much is their fuel supp? I guess they can charge what they want and youve got no comeback.

Also on emore (so many) question, anyone who has flown Via Chicago from manchester, is there anything special we need to do in Chicago for the transfer, or is it straight forward? I.e if there is any risk of not gettign the connection, is there anythign we can do quickly, directions to run or anything? - Probably just my paronoia setting in!!

I found Chicago (ORD) to be probably one of the best laid out and signposted airports i've ever been to..

Plenty of eateries etc. all around the terminal. it was however a fair walk form one one to the other

    Thanks for that trets77

We're staying at the Renaissance Hollywood, which is at/part of the Hollywood/Highland Centre.

I emailed the hotel to ask about parking charges as we probabaly won't use the car while we are in LA once we arrive at the hotel, until the morning we leave. We plan to take the Red Line to Universal Studios, and otherwise on foot (Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre etc). We don't plan to be out late at night as DD will be with us (she will be 13).

we stayed a stones throw away at The Hollywood Hills Hotel. you should have little to worry about around here , especially in daylight hours.

i recommend Cantors Deli near by for a great LA diner breakfast , be a tad more careful around it in the dark though.

Well laid out yes but not enough seating we had a 2 hours wait there and were delayed a further 6 and ended up with many others sitting on the floor for 4 hours, to be honest though I thought the choice for eateries there poor

I priced up a few companies - and Viator seems to come up cheapest (£330 for the 2 of us). Sundance (who Viator use) charge 430$ pp for the same trip, but with only 15$ fuel supp... so no brainer really

I must admit didnt realise about the supp until i got the booking confirmation.. but on checking back its clearly detailed

Incidently got an email from them tonight the time i booked is not avail - So we have had to rebook an earlier one.. but still on hubbies b'day so happy with that
