Want to do "real" GC ie South Rim.
This looks good value at $244
http://www.scenic.com/saws1gc_deluxe.htm
Can anyone recommend this or similar from this or other airline? Anyone got any 2-4-1 or similar coupons for this or similar?
Froggitt,
Did this exact tour in May and loved it, very well organised and our tour driver very informative on Canyon, two stops in the Canyon with plenty of time to take pictures and souvenir shop. (Though don't reccomend being late back to the bus, you get a bit of ribbing!!). We had the second tour of the day, the first one was a pick up at about 05.30!!! and the lunch was a buffet at the Best Western which was very nice. The Imax was okay, I just wanted to get out to the Canyon.
Planes can get a bit bumpy and fly out from Boulder City which is about 30 minutes away from memory.
Would heartily reccomend it. (though the way things are around here lately, i'm sure somebody will disagree:rotfl: :rotfl: )

SeptemberDo you mean dealer sticks or draws S17?
sturll is right though, B/J is the SECOND best game to play for odds in a casino, with a house edge of more like half of a percent played properly and with a single deck paying 3/2 on blackjacks. Whatever you do don't get caught playing the pleasure pit, !!!!!cat dolls, or other high visability tables in the casinos, as these are usually 6/5 paid on blackjacks and should be kicked into touch.
What's the first - is it poker where you're playing other people, and not the house? I don't like blackjack. I know it has the least advantage over you, but it's so boring to me.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
Just got back and am i knackered, never walked so much in my life to do shopping.
Cant believe the odds in the casinos though worse than they are over here. I did get a free holiday as i won more than to cover the whole cost plus all the shopping and still had $2k left over as profit but they dont seem to comp you for things like i've read about. Managed to get a free brunch at the ballagio as all my money was won there
Had a good time in all but not sure if i'd go again but if i did would need to plan my days out better. This getting up at 5am everyday due to the time difference was killing although there wasnt much queuing at that time lol0 -

Whatever you do don't get caught playing the pleasure pit, X at the Flamingo, or other high visability tables in the casinos, as these are usually 6/5 paid on blackjacks and should be kicked into touch.
I think the other thing to note though is that the blackjack tables with the best odds for the players are those with the higher minimum bets. You aren't really going to rock up to a $5 table with the best rules most places.
So someone with $50 freeplay might only actually get to play 2 hands at $25 each (no spare to split or double) at the tables which will give the player the best odds...not really going to have much time to get a feel for face cards in that period.
I totally agree that blackjack, if played properly, on the right tables is a great bet and I do admire those who play blackjack properly as their game of choice.
Unfortunately, many people (myself included):
a) won't play perfect strategy as we're too daft to learn (which will have a big impact on the odds against us)
b) won't be comfortable with the high table minimums and would be stuck playing lower limit tables with less favourable rules
c) will not have the bankroll to live out the bad times
d) will die of boredom before anything good happens.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchWow, that s**ks!! I am afraid you are right, as we know what weasles some of these casinos can be. Was that offer to be paid for up front? Because if it was I think you might have a case for getting it honoured. If not I can't see how they could not let you cancel.
As always, best advice, RING THEM!
I agree - while their T&Cs may give them some wiggle room, that $50/day free play credit is likely the main thing that made many people book it - they can't take that away and expect to get away with it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
SeptemberI'm sorting through some of the coupons I might want to use on my next trip in a few weeks time, and came across this one. Free admission for 2 to Nathan Burton when you buy one Flamingo buffet (min value of $19.95).

Anyone eaten at the Flamingo buffet. Think I remember someone recently in a Go Room saying it was awful?
Does this show come up at the half price outlets?
Anyone seen the show? Was it any good?
Seems a decent offer for $20 spend......Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
wow so much info to read through!
im based in Glasgow and looking to go to vegas in april, may, june time next year, but would ideally prefer a direct flight from UK
can anyone recommend any airlines with good deals etc for this time, preferably with direct flights?0 -
SeptemberHi thegolfingdog. Have a read of post one on the thread as it'll confirm who offers direct flights in the UK and where they depart from etc. You'll be looking at either a flight from Gatwick or Manchester
I've been from Glasgow twice in the last 3 years. (American Airlines and US Airways). Both had a good service and were priced competively.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

The Flamingo buffet is borderline from what I hear - it's not rated as being very good, but it's not quite in the class of Excalibur/CC/IP...some people think it's just fine but many (most?) say it isn't great.
It does come up at the 1/2 price outlets...I've seen it there before and it was available when this was taken...haven't seen the show myself.
