Hey guys I always read this thread most days as it's Wealth of information:T,anyway
the missus and I are off to vegas again in a couple of weeks I just wondered what
your opions are on the MGM pool area versus the Flamingo pool area

We are both in our late 30's so I just wondered which would be more suitable for us

    Thanks

    Where are you staying?
Remember you can't just wander from hotel to hotel enjoying the pools (that said, we had no trouble doing that at Flamingo a couple of weeks ago :o
IMHO Flamingo pool is the better by a long way. More of a younger vibe, 20-30s and the waitresses kick !!!!! You might want to try the GO pool, women are free and $10 for guys, that keeps the meatfest at bay because it is a topless optional pool, and worth it for the seclusion and added comfort. you don't have to be staying there either. Don't forget to make sure the wife wears her pink flamingo pasties to cover her modesty, you can buy them from the girl that sells the hukkahs, you won't be able to miss her! Would post a pic of Mrs. Stoneman wearing hers, but not really suitable for a family site ;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

where do you sign up for all these offers that come out the casinos by email?

I have been going to Vegas for 20 years, signed up for every email offer going, AND NEVER ONCE RECEIVED A SINGLE THING!!

If they put it in a machine to check it at the pool it will be cancelled the day you check out. Also, most hotels change the style of the cards every couple of months or so so will be obvious if it's an old one

    oh dear, Criss Angel.

    http://www.lvrj.com/news/29875759.html

Now I know that shows sometimes need some tweaking through previews...but this sounds particularly worrying.

Still, I wonder how much of it is big Criss Angel fans being disappointed where those of us who like him but aren't fanatical might be OK with it?

I'm not sure...but I'm glad we weren't planning on seeing it until April as plenty of time for reviews between now and then.

Yes I read that this morning, not good news.

We are due to go on 13th October but now have a dilemma as to whether to cancel or not and go see another show instead. AS they bumped the premier back to 31 October our tickets have become preview seats which I'm sure I wont have any problem getting refunded. Hmmmm.

I really fancy the Jersey Boys too, I'm hoping a proper review comes out thats a bit more balanced than those comments. The guy even said in there that he didn't see the show.

I don't think you'll get a proper review until after the proper opening, but...

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Ouch. Gonna cancel and spend my £150 elsewhere I think.

Any suggestions? Going to see O? Have seen Mystere, Ka and Blue man.

Thinking of Penn and Teller (Is it like their old TV shows?), Lance Burton, Jersey Boys or possibly phantom.

Don't want any nudey shows, Le Reve looks too similar to O for this trip and Im not sure I want to be dancing in the aisles (Jersey boys?) either.
  • Hi Guys,

We have been looking for a deal for March 2009 & I am very impatient. I know I should be waiting to Dec/Jan for the deals but just wanted your thoughts on this price.

11th-18th March Venetian - $239 per night - total is $1823.57 for the week.

Now if I reduce my stay, or check in a day or 2 later, the price rockets to $449 per night which I don't understand.

Anyway, we stayed there 2 nights in April & loved it. Would I have any chance of getting a week cheaper if I left it to Dec/Jan time? I know no one around here is psychic - just looking for an educated guess or even experience.

We paid $199 a night in April but I don't know what it would've cost fot the week - therefore I have nothing to compare it to.

    Thanks.

As long as you book direct with the website and keep on looking you can always cancel and rebook.

$239 is a standard price to be fair and Im sure you will be able to beat that. However Im sure sometime in March is bad for some reason or other. I'm sure someone will be along to tell you what and when that is.

Im off to the Venetian Next Wednesday for 3 nights. Paying $169 per night with a $50 dining credit for each day. :T Only booked last week. Can't wait, love the Venetian.
