Sounds like you had a great time, I can hardly contain myself with excitement, less than 3 weeks until we go :j :j :j
We have booked with Papillion, their grand celebration 1st class tour, and I had the voucher from the LAS VEGAS OFFICIAL TOURIST GUIDE, I did a live chat online with papillion to get info and check prices before booking and they said I couldn't use that code as it wasn't one of theirs? and that if I went through who ever sponsored the book, maybe the discount would work then?!
It was 15% off too. I just went ahead and booked without the discount. I'm sure it will be worth every penny
I don't think we are going to manage the trip to the crown & anchor for the footie, I was checking our intinery and thats the day we are off flying over the grand canyon, which even my footie daft hubby says is pretty much as good as it gets for making up for not getting to see the game. :T
I think I'll go dust off my suitcase and start packing... lol
Pinkpinkfizz - I hope you have a fantastic time. Yes the code I got is also from the Official Vegas Guide Fall/Winter 2007-08 - visitors guide. www.visitlasvegas.com or www.visitlasvegas.co.uk to order a free brochure.
I said earlier today I would post details. For those of you who are interested the article shows Papillon Helicopters / Scenic Airlines & Grand Canyon Coaches. To book a tour it says call 888.635.7272 for 15% off & use code GOLD. Without calling that number I can't say if it is operated by a 3rd party or if it's a number for one of scenic's or papillon's offices.0 -

Update - I just typed in the telephone number on google.com and it brought up a link for the following website. Looks like it is contacting Papillon directly.

MayRe getting the MGM at $100/night. That should certainly be doable midweek as we have a reservation for April at $69 with a night free. However that rate could certainly treble for a Friday and Saturday.
Just make sure your 10 days doesn't cover 2 weekends.0 -

I'm starting to look at players clubs and what to sign up for, but I have not one single clue about casinos, games, chips??.... ehm....:o .... any tips?? lol
I know this is probably going to be the daftest question ever asked on ANY vegas forum but do you play with money in the casinos? as in real money into the machines? or is it all on a card that you put funds into? I am trying to save my embarassment now by trying to make it sound like I have some idea, lolhelp?!

Pinkpinkfizz,
Not been myself yet, 95 days and counting!! But i'm sure that slot machines, video poker etc all take cash, quarters, dollars and such. Table games you probably need chips for. I'm sure somebody else can give the definitive answer, but the casinos want to catch you walking past with cash in your pocket not make you go to a booth to change cash into chips.
Got to train myself to keep walking past so I can see the sights!!
Stew
PS No question is ever daft if you don't know the answer.0 -

Yes you put money in the machines to begin with. Usually dollar bills, but there are some old machines that will accept coins too. They are a dying breed though.
What you get out if you win is a ticket that you can redeem at either a cashier or at a ticket machine. Most machines are what they call TITO (ticket in ticket out) So if you put in $20 and then decide you don't like that particular machine, you just cash out, take your ticket and put it in the next machine you want to play on.
Table games are usually played with chips that you can either get at the table or from the cashier.
Hope that helps a little.0
