    it seems that a number of people have phoned and checked with the airlines the validity of the tickets and there does not seem to be a problem 'touch wood'
    Expedia.com US is throwing out good prices too!

    But when you go to expedia.com it gives you the message:

    Shoppers living in the United Kingdom who visit Expedia's U.S. site will not be able to purchase airline tickets or holidays.
    Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Also, it's interesting as I checked our dates for October (direct with Virgin) on expedia.com.au and they are £12 more expensive on expedia than booking direct.

    Interesting that the savings doesn't necessarily apply across the board.

    I also checked out price for a trip to Australia I am planning next year, through the Australian Expedia site and it was working out more expensive than the UK site..I think its mainly Northwest Airlines and KLM that are giving the good deals on AU site

    I think and yes I agree with some of your points ferf, the issues here are the fact if you book with KLM direct or Northwest the prices are more which gives the caution signs, but my normal routes are via the skyteam alliance so as long as confirmation is received I am happy, if everything goes ok, I wil book out more with these guys

    Good luck to all the others, will let you know how it goes,

    Wohooo!!!
    Just booked these, etickets arrived, chose seats, all set to go £190 per ticket!!! Bloody tight connection coming back though, but thats their problem if we miss it. I'll look forward to a nice hotel and maybe an OP-UP on the return if they don't get us onUntitled.jpg
    The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Who was that flying with and for what dates?
    the dates are quite scattered - for example you could do:

    6/5/2009 -> 15/5/2009
    $458 *AUS DOLLAR* each (£200'ish)
    London Heathrow -> Las Vegas

    Outbound via. Detroit or Minneapolis
    Return via. LAX (meaning you can stock up on duty free :D )

    Or, from memory do a multistop (if you're comfy with it) of Heathrow -> Vegas outbound, then LAX to Vegas return and you save approx. £40 per person (so more worthwhile and less of a flap with connecting flights to get a hire car if there's a few of you :) )

    give it a swirl :D

    as always, you can do the price conversions here:

    i agree with Ferf to use caution but i'm confident based on what i read and what others have written (as confident as you can be!)

    stoneman, we have same connection problems on way back (bit tight but nowhere near as tight as yours however!)...

    From Vegas on the return journey...
    18:40 Arrive LAX
    19:25 Last checkin (if we need to do this)
    20:25 Leave LAX

    Fortunately it's just a short flight

    I believe the bags will get checked through automatically on the way back as well :) and i am looking forward to rescuing that massive bottle of Jack Daniels from duty free :)

    Just did a comparison on Northwest site, and keeping with them for the whole trip would only have cost another £150 total. Might have been worth it to be on their nice newish A330.
    Have a look at them, they are my airline of choice now, nice planes, plenty of room, and don't be afraid of the connections, they are a breeze, and you get to get off the plane and stretch your legs after 8 hours.
