Guys.. in Las Vegas now. Got forced to pay $10 in tips to some guy who gave us VIP card passes to Pure nightclub (fri/sat/sun) and Lax at Luxor tonight.... Apparently its free entry and VIP table...

Have I just been stung or are these passes real? They look professional and real enough but con men are con men!

    Cheers guys :)

Dont know but let us know what happens on your blog- keep up the good work.

Also dont know if youve heard of this place but www.openvegas.com has some good trip reports and info for vegas addicts
  • Well won't know till Pure is open on Friday but will definitely let you know. If this saves us $60 of admission its worth the $10 tip haha.

Just had my first poker session and won $260! Anyway all wil be in the blog later.

    :)

Wow, just got on the boat with those expedia Australia fares, sale seems to have finished. The flights I got for £190 each are now £418 but still a good price
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Ummmm- so i thought when you went through a connection such as the scenario above you didnt have to go landside and go through security again.

I've got an amsterdam connection onto Newcastle from Minneanapolis and I presumed that once I landed in Amsterdam I wouldnt have to clear security again?

there is a whole thread on the subject of duty free being confiscated if you are travelling on a connection through Amsterdam and EU

I first heard of this thread (the 2007 version) when Trets posted there to say he'd started this thread over here. :)

It is a great resource though it was a lot better a couple of years ago for various reasons.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I couldn't agree more. Seems to coincide with the change over to the new forum set up for some reason. Used to get some good rows going on as well as good advce, deals etc. Now it is just 1 time posters coming on asking the same questions. Oooppps;)

What do you mean "forced" did the guy hold a gun to your head?
I think you wll find it's the $500 of Vodka that gets you a table, but I coud be wrong, let us know.

Just did a comparison on Northwest site, and keeping with them for the whole trip would only have cost another £150 total. Might have been worth it to be on their nice newish A330.
Have a look at them, they are my airline of choice now, nice planes, plenty of room, and don't be afraid of the connections, they are a breeze, and you get to get off the plane and stretch your legs after 8 hours.

that's who I have just flown with from LHR to Vegas and San Francisco to Gatwick (both via changes in Detroit) and couldn't fault them really.

Airbus from LHR To Detroit was very good, and even the older 757 from Detroit to Gatwick was good as well with a fair amount of leg room I thought (I'm around 6'1 in height).

Worst standard plane was the leg from Detroit to Vegas but it was still not to bad really and wasn't worried about the lack of entertainment in that flight as the views for most of the way are great.
