What happens in Vegas and 21 should be out on dvd in a few months and both show vegas in a good light. I go 3 weeks on thursday!!! :jVegas Trips....Feb 2007, Nov 2007, September 2008, August 2009, September 2011..........:beer:0 -
November/DecemberCan anyone recommend a good DVD. We are about to book our trip and we want to have a "Las Vegas" night, so we can pour over the places to se & visit. Dont want one of the 5 second You Tube jibbies. Want the full all singing, all dancing, Get us in the mood films. any suggestions.
Bt the way, has anyone seen the google street view of the strip? Bit dissaponting. I'm sure they wanted to show all the glittering lights, but its all turned out quite dark. You cant make much out. it seems part of the strip was filmed in daylight, then when it gets to MGM, it switches to night view. It would have been better to film it all in daylight.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Cracker film!!0 -
Afternoon all, will be in Vegas in little under two weeks from now. Been looking on Hotels.co m and you can book a night in the stratosphere for £20, do people think I would be better off paying that before I go or turning up on the door. (Im not restricting myself to solely the stratosphere)0

don't turn up at the door, but look at http://www.stratospherehotel.com/ as the rates might be less than hotels.com and you'll only get charged for the first night up front. I would personally consider other hotels, but regardless check the rates direct.
Never plan to turn up at a hotel in Vegas...you're likely to a) end up without a room or b) end up staying somewhere hideous at a jacked up price.
Also check the special deals on their website:
http://www.stratospherehotel.com/packages/
And check the link to fatwallet on the first page of this thread to see if there are any better deals to be had.
Edited to add that recently someone got similar rates for Imperial Palace - perhaps check your rates there as MUCH better location at least.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Do not turn up and hope to get a good rate that does not happen I am afraid, you could also for say £30 staye at one of the nicer hotels in a much better loaction than Stratosphere which is not easy walking distance to the Strip.

if you are in the UK, Sky Three have a programme thats been on over the last few days. Its titled something like 'thrill rides of las vegas' and as the title says it looks into the rides, rollercoasters and water parks in the vegas area. Its been on twice this weekend and so far ive managed to miss it both times. The future mrs daz saw the last half hour of it and said it looked great and has given her some good ideas of what we can do when we go out there next year
EDIT **
Also bbc3 have The real hustle - las vegas on this evening showing you all sorts of tricks that no one would ever be able to get away with in a casino0 -
Cheers, I was only drawn to the Stratosphere because of the cheap prices and the huge tower
Bit far out of the way it would appear then. Thanks for the advice0 -
