    Hi all
We're going to Vegas for the first time on the 17th November, we're only there for 4 days and 3 nights, as we're also going onto LA and San Francisco.

We're staying at the Bellaggio (woohoo :D ) I wondered whether anyone can tell us what we really should do there, time will be short and I really don't want to be wandering around deciding what to do!

Not too big on gambling, love shopping and would ideally like to see one of the Cirque Du Soleil shows.

Where's the best buffets/restaurants to eat that won't break the bank?

    Thanks!

Trust me, you won't be wandering around wondering what to do. There is so much happening in Vegas that you wont have enough time to do stuff never mind not enough to do. Things to think about.

    - Spend an evening at freemont street
    - Go see Mystere at Treasure Island
    - Go up the stratosphere
    - Go for a drink at the voodoo lounge in the Rio
    - M & M world (The M&M 3D film is superb)
    - Lions at MGM
    - Have a walk around the forum shops at Caesers
    - The Grand Lux cafe at the venetian is nice and decently priced.
    - Spend a morning wandering around the south strip hotels (Luxor, Mandarlay, MGM, NYNY etc)
    - Spend an morning going round the North Hotels (Wynn, Venetian, TI, Mirage, etc)
    - Watch the pirate ships at TI
    - Go shopping at the outlet stores (cheaper than you might think)
    - Play the slots and gamble a little

I could go on and on, you just wander into stuff that captures your interest in Vegas, no matter where you are there is always something.

As for you show, I would strongly suggest Mystere, I think its the oldest show and probably the one that is the most traditional cirque show, its the cheapest aswell. You can also get a good dining package aswell for the set meals at a few of the TI restaurants. It was good value when we did it.

Also Ka is incredible, if you like Mystere, you may find yourself wanting to see another one the night after, if so Ka is brilliant.

Hope that helps. Also the first page of this post is very comprehensive in what to do.

My family and I saw Nathan Burton (no relation to Lance) at the Flamingo 4 day ago - we only left LV a couple of days ago, very sad as we all loved it.

The kids thought it was great, wife and I thought it was entertaining and some of it quite clever. It cost $120 for 4 x VIP tickets (cheap compared with Lance et al) - meant you sat at the front and didn't queue much compared with the normal tickets.

Def. recommend but I am not an expert so not well informed as to what is a great magic show or not.

Theres a new Cirque show called Believe, with illusionist Criss Angel, opening on 10th October in the Luxor, previews on from Sept 12th to October 9th

They say the show is not for the faint hearted...

If anyone is interested, these guys were very good. Cheap, as in $60 for adults and $40 for kids, plus taxes. The flight lasted about 10 minutes and was great fun. Easy to access and not much hanging about in our case. Flights at 6.15 - 6.45 I believe?

Does anyone know how I can get cheap direct Virgin Flights for next June 2009? When I say cheap I mean near to £500 as possible.

Leaving London Monday 15th June going to Las Vegas, and then returning from Los Angeles to London on the 27th June 09.

The flights on the Virgin website are currently £650+, any codes or special offers?????

    Rich

Money and Miles fares are the only method i know of getting money off a fare. You cannot book one unless you have previous earning activity. this used to be in the Terms and Conditions but was not enforced..... now it is.

you can get the Virgin atlantic credit card to fulfill these requirements .

June is holiday season so £580 sounds par for the course. see post #5 for details of how to get a M+M fare.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

I saw him a few months ago, his improvisational comedy was excellent, just as good as you may have seen on television. He finished with some singing (I just can't remember what, may have been from some shows). That man has got some voice on him.

We certainly enjoyed the evening especially the improv.

HeliUSA do similar strip tour. From memory, even cheaper than $60.

These seem to be mostly at night, and every half hour or so, as the copters do the GC run during the day. The night flight over the strip was stunning. They also pick up at the hotel and provide a really awful fizzy wine while youre waiting for your copter to return. Tip - get them to drop you back to a hotel/casino/restaurant of your choice.
