...My question really was has anyone stayed in the Meridian Luxory resort. We definately are having 2 nights in ( probably Mirage) but the first 5 nights we want a 2 bed suite, just off strip - its only 1 block. As I said, its looks fab on the website, but I know MSE ers may have their own opinions if it is value for money.

    Hi Katykat,
Ive been meaning to reply since I got back - this is the first chance Ive had.
I havent personally stayed there, however, my friends did this trip.
They had a two bedroomed apartment and they raved about it!
I have seen the photos on the website and they say its identical.
I did drive by their place and it is totally walkable to the strip - not far at all.
It is literally over the road to Ellis Island Casino, just behind Ballys.

The only two problems they experienced were the pool was closed for three days of their 14 night stay to be cleaned and they found it difficult to get a taxi from the resort. Thats it - everything else they loved. The location is not bad at all.

They had their mum & son with them (built in babysitter so they could hit the town) so it was perfect for them as it is non-gaming and more like a holiday hotel - they said you wouldnt even realise you were in Vegas whilst being there.

Hope this info helps in some way.

I agree they are well worth the money. did you know that you can get a discount the next time you buy one? If you email them they'll send you a discount code for the next time you order.

Thanks for taking the time to write your report. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for our next trip. We will be flying with BMI in November for the first time. We've been with Mytravel/TC, USAirways and AA before. I'm glad you enjoyed flying with them. I may need to pick your brains in the near future.:o

Hi Just got another $50 off my reservation for Orleans using price match from price found at triples.com

Total bill for 10 nights $286 plus tax and might have to pay the $5 a day for extra charges but most seem not to be paying that at the mo, so max bill of $361 :)

    Cheers

Oh yes, i also got insurance for the trip from via this site for £18.21 for 2 adults. I normally use Insureandgo as i found them to be a good deal, but even they came in at £52.

    Got to love MSE :)

It may not be too late - you can get it from Amazon, so check out their delivery terms - mine came within a couple of days I seem to recall.

I cannot get over the price you are paying for Orleans - well done. I will add tripres to my list of site to price match.

I think you forgot to write where you got your insurance from - ie which website on your earlier post?

Hi pebbles - thanks for the tip - I will remember that for next time.

You're welcome, I enjoyed writing it - pick away!

Just a quick tip RE BMI flight - you are able to book your seats almost immediately after booking your flight - have you done that yet?
NB-If you book the set of two seats togther the window seat has the entertainment box under the seat in front of you, so it takes up some of your foot room I'm afraid. We still chose them over sitting in the four seats without it though.
Im jealous that your trip is still to come - nevermind - roll on next year!!!

Last time I checked amazon.co.uk only had it through amazon sellers so it was about £20 (the cover price is about $17 so you'll pay about double for it) - so you'll be better off picking one up when you get there if you can find one. They may be out of stock though as the later it gets in the year the less available they are.

You can normally get them from a few places in Vegas in addition to your standard book stores - I found this info on their website -

The book is also available in most major bookstores. When you call your favorite bookstore to inquire about the book just ask for ISBN# 978-1-883768-17-1 to see if they have it in stock. ISBN is short for International Standard Book Number and it is used by bookstores to identify books.
You can also buy the Guide in Las Vegas at the following locations:
    Gambler's General Store
    808 S Main St
    Las Vegas, NV 89101
    702-382-9903
    Gambler's Book Club
    630 S 11th St
    Las Vegas, NV 89101
    702-382-7555
The book is also available in the gift shop of Fiesta Rancho, Terrible's Casino (corner of Flamingo and Paradise near the Strip), Hacienda Casino (in Boulder City), or the Cannery Casino in N. Las Vegas.
The 2008 Guide is currently sold out in bookstores. This means that a bookstore can't order the book for you, however, they may have the book sitting on their shelf and available for purchase. To find out if your local Barnes & Noble bookstore has the 2008 Guide available in a store near you, click here - http://search.barnesandnoble.com/American-Casino-Guide/Steve-Bourie/e/9781883768171/?itm=1 and then enter your zip code.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
