Maybe, but they will issue the ticket with a UK credit card and a UK address.

I guess its whether you think there's any risk or not.

If they dont want you to do it, then they would restrict you booking it.

Interesting - I couldn't see a way to book with a UK card - the only option was to book with a card with an address in Japan as I said (when you get to the payment screen the address defaults to Japan and can't be changed)...so as far asi could see they do restrict you from booking it but perhaps I missed the way to do it. What's the way around it?

Edited to add I did try to again and the booking screen does say:

Card must be issued in Japan with a billing address in Japan

it won't let you change it from what I can see.

Has anyone ever booked a hotel with travelres.com ?

I was looking at rooms from 7th Aug for 3 nights and they are offering MGM Signature for $327 (+tax +resort fee). Even with all the fees it was only $401, which for the Signature, including a Friday and Saturday night, does seem pretty good.

May be worth a look if anyone needs a room over the next couple of weeks. We're off to Vegas on Tuesday, so now just counting down the hours !!

    Hi Stew,

I like the idea of being of picked up and lead by the hand, i actually enjoy the relaxation a quality coach gives. I have had more flights and helicopter trips to last a life time so holds no attraction for me ( ex military).

Cheers for you input though :)

    Steve,

Does it have to be a coach tour?? Its an awfully long way for a day trip.

We flew out on a light plane and then watched the imax film (not bad), buffet lunch and then a comprehensive tour of the canyon by coach. It was run by Scenic airlines and was worth every penny of about 150.00 pounds.

This is the link of the tour if it is of any help.

We are due to fly to vegas on 31st august for a fortnight, we have within the last week, had some unexpected, though pleasing news that there is a little one on the way. There have been complications in the past and now we are a bit unsure about going (not exactly the best timing but you cant always pick these things). Im just interested if anyone else has flown while expecting and if so what they made of it?

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Its in the hands of God Steve. There are no particular dangers in flying apart from the fact that aircrew dont like taking expectant mums in the latter stages of pregnancy because they quite rightly dont want to deal with a possible delivery mid flight ( nowhere to land in the Atlantic) However, a friend of mine flew from Oz at 7 weeks, and lost her baby when she got here. No way of telling if it was due to the flight, or if it would have happened anyway, but she still says she wishes she hadn't done it. Happily, she became a proud mum of twins after she returned to Oz. If there is any chance the mum to be may need medical attention, she may want to reconsider, or at least make sure her insurance covers everything. CONGRATULATIONS by the way. Hope this time, it works out well for you.

    Hi there,

Four of us going to vegas for the first time this summer. We're arriving in Vegas on the 31st August and flying back from San Francisco on the 14th. The plan is to spend 6 nights in Vegas. I've got a number of questions.

    1. Hotels - could someone suggest a list of decent hotels on the strip. I look at sites like travelworm and see a huge list of hotels but don't know which ones are good. We can't afford anywhere top end but somewhere mid-range would be good. What are decent offers on at the moment and whats the best way to book? We're completely new to vegas and being students want to get a good deal.

    2. Is it worth hiring a car for whilst we are in vegas? We're going to be hiring one after to drive to san francisco (probably either via yosemite or LA). From what I've seen it looks quite expensive and don't know what use we would get out of it apart from maybe a day to grand canyon and a day to a shopping outlet. How good and cheap is public transport?

    3. What is a cost effective way to do the grand canyon? Is driving there a good idea? Or a coach tour? Or is a fly tour the best way?

    Thanks in advance

Seems your right, I booked a very similar flight using LAN.com and it let me do it no problem. Even cheaper, so I thought it would be a similar deal.

Another quick question before the big day tomorrow: my OH and I will be travelling with a ds lite, psp, small laptop, £300 sony camera, 2 ipods (I know this sounds like a lot... :p). Since we want to bring back some clothes (I will try to average us to £145 each to keep within the limits), is it advisable to declare the electronic stuff we will be taking with us tomorrow at the airport? Am I correct in thinking I may run into a lot less trouble if I declare that stuff beforehand, in the (unlikely, but possible) event our bags are checked on the way back? I have never done this before, and am not sure of the implications of doing this, or of where I can do it... Any clues? Thanks.

Have you read the first post of this thread?

All hotels on the strip are decent.

    I always hire a car.

GC is a personal choice but "cost effective" has to be a car.

I think tho that all your questions are answered in the first post.
