November/DecemberI've always worried booking a deal with attached freebies that booking back-to-back reservations over the period would be flag to them that I was trying to get more than I was entitled to and might result in something terrible happening.
I suppose it might work if you didn't link the reservations but that would mean checking out and back in.
Has anyone tried the multiple bookings where there are freebies associated with each who can say how it worked?
We did this at the MGM last trip and we did have to check in and out again. They did let us check in early on the second one so it wasn't too bad. We went down, checked in, got the new room keys, went to the first room, checked out using the TV and moved our bags up two floors and along a bit. One reservation was in my name and one in Tony's, but we did get $70 food credit and four drinks at the west wing bar. It was like getting one of the nights free.0 -

I wrote a sob story email and followed it up with a phone call. The lady was nice but not particularly apologetic, said that the voucher was from a site called slickdeals.net. I asked her what she could do for me and she did Fri/Sat night at $104 and the rest of the week for about $79-89. It was a total of $679 for the week inc tax, obviously up from $530 but still a good deal I thought.
What do you think? Will I be able to get cheaper than this for a hotel in the same class? I booked it anyway but I'll keep checking.
I'm not sure whether to write to their customer services director and ask for food comps or something. Worth persuing or should I just let the matter settle?
thats not bad , you can still cancel if you find something better after booking without penalty i would assume.
you could write a letter , or take your revoked email and ask about things at check in ( while trying the $20 trick)Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
November/DecemberI would snap it up. TBH you used a code that you were not entitled to, it was ment to go to certain people only, but got spread about. So, I think they have done alright by you and $104 on the weekend nights is really good, and it is a nice hotel, I don't find it THAT big.
I am with you $104 (£53) for a weekend is a snip, although its big its easy to navigate far easier than say Caesers, PH or luxorIts Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -
November/Decemberlol , agree , the Miracle mile shops are where we always get lost
Me tooI go in one as a cut through and toget the aircon walk stright through the shops for 20 minutes and come out at the entrance I went in atIts Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -
MayHow much money did you lose in Vegas?
Lets take me as an example, I play craps, and as with the best games for us the punter, are at best 60% knowing what to do, and 40% luck. I play in sessions, split my bank roll into 3 sessions. Play for 1 hour at a time, have a rest and start again, I expect only to make 30% of that session bank roll as profit, it might be only $40, once I make that I walk away (unless there is a hot shooter) now, I might only win $100 a night, but thats the room and food taken care of. My wins are modest, the most being $600 in one night, but the losses have been modest as well, $200. But on average I make about $150-$200 per night. We almost always find that the trips pay for themselves, and we have been more than 30 times.
So, manage your expectations, expect to lose, play games that have a small house edge, and play for fun.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Or if you play poker, you can have a good few hours entertainment in a low stakes tourney, say $40 buyin, in early afternoon tourneys at eg Luxor or Planet Hollywood.
My mate is the worst poker player ever, and he managed to fluke 2nd in the Luxor tourney.....about 50 entries.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Marchwe've never had a winning trip, but we don't like the better odds games - we're slot players at heart, it's what we enjoy - we consider it buying entertainment and if we win, then that's a bonus. In an average trip we bring back 30%-50% of what we took expecting to spend (food, entertainment, etc.) and lose and are quite happy with that.
The last 2 trips the last night or the last day before our flight helped up our percent rescued from the jaws of Vegas quite considerably too...so it could have been a lot worse.
I totally agree with stoneman's comment to manage your expectations and stick to your budget.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
