MarchTrying to decide between the two. Any opinions please?
Thanks
I agree with Trets that Bellagio is several steps above TI...but I would imagine that it's quite a bit more expensive as well.
We liked Bellagio, but with the exception of a fountain-view room for one night for the experience the cost isn't really justifiable to us as a lesser room and hotel is fine with us. For a nice treat it was great, but we wouldn't book a whole trip there ourselves.
If prices are similar, Bellagio -hands down...if Bellagio is a little more expensive, then still Bellatio..if Bellagio is a lot more expensive, then it will really depend on what you want out of a hotel and whether the increased cost is worth it to you...it wouldn't be for us, but would be for others.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MayHi everyone,
Just a quick word of warning regarding internal US flights. In Feb I booked to fly one-way from Vegas to SF on 1st August. Got a fair price with US Airways, about £45 each. Anyway, for some reason, logged into my reservation today and the flight schedule had been changed so it was flying indirect, via Phoenix (taking 4 hours for what was 90min). I have not been contacted about this change, even though they had my email address.
Obviously I have cancelled with a full refund but it may be worth anyone with similar flights booked, just check to make sure that nothing has changed.
Hope this helps.
from USA TodayThe USA's air-travel map is shrinking fast, dropping scores of routes and flights that airlines simply can't afford anymore in a world of $130-a-barrel oil.
A USA TODAY analysis of fall airline schedules shows the nation's most popular vacation destinations will be among the biggest air-service losers. Many flights to Honolulu, Orlando, Las Vegas and other favorite vacation venues have vanished or will soon because cheap tickets bought by tourists don't cover the cost of getting there.Meanwhile, Las Vegas, the nation's casino capital and a magnet for low-fare carriers, is also drawing major reductions in service. US Airways (LCC), the No. 2 Las Vegas carrier after Southwest (LUV), will have about a quarter less flying capacity out of the city this October, more than 120,000 fewer seats. Delta (DAL) and Northwest (NWA) will be down about as much in percentage terms.
One reason is that the average airfare per mile flown on Las Vegas flights is among the lowest of any airport, according to consulting company Sabre Airline Solutions. In May, it was about 10 cents, compared with 16 cents a mile on flights from Minneapolis, for example.
US Airways' downsizing in Las Vegas includes eliminating its cheap "red-eye" flights that took off late and flew through the night to the East Coast.
"If there are plenty of seats to go during the day, most people would rather fly during the day than make a red-eye flight, so those seats are going first," says Andrew Nocella, US Airways' chief planner.

Thanks for the heads-up - just double checked our ORD to LAS flight on AA in a week and half and all is still OK. Based on the seatmap it's all but sold out so fingers crossed it won't be one that they mess with!
Now I shall check every day between now and then out of sheer paranoia - but would rather know if something had changed and be prepared for it than be surprised at the airport.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
January/FebruaryI think as Airfares and gas prices rise, Vegas will keep its room rates really low to keep attracting the volume of tourists needed to fill those monster Hotels so its not all bad news.0

Thanks folks. For the time we are going Bellagiois 199 per night and TI is 159.0

assume that is $ . par for Bellagio but expensive for TI
keep regular checks on the links in post #1 , as you may see better prices appear as your dates get nearer .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

After cancelling our US Airways flights, managed to book some Virgin America 'First Class' (like Business Class I think) flights at just £107 each from Vegas to SF. Thought we'd have a bit of a treat, even on a short flight, as we're not likely to do it again. Their fares do seem quite reasonable and the reports I've read so far are pretty good.0 -
January/FebruaryI saw on the 'real hustle las vegas' It showed the cast sitting in a bar overlooking freemont street and I thought it would be good to sit there and watch the light show. Has anybody who has seen it know where it is? Orif not does anybody know of a bar with a good view of the light show downtown??

A great place to watch the light show is the restaurant at the plaza. I cant remeber what its called but it is glass fronted and looks down freemont street, when the show starts the lights are dimmed and the music is piped in to the restaurant, the meals are good to and not to expensive. I think a reservation is needed.
Edit...just checked their website and it looks like it may not be a restaurant any more, but a sports bar called the dome.0
