MayAs April 10 is Good Friday, I would think the prices will only go up for around that time for easter breaks/holidays....0

This is my first post here - the advice so far has been great!
We've not been to Vegas before and am planning to travel next April. Can someone recommend the best time to book flights - I don't want to book now if there's a chance of getting them cheaper later in the year. We're looking at around 10th April and flights at the moment are coming in at £525 pp.
Would prefer direct flights from London - does that mean Vrigin are our only option?
Thanks everyone!

unless a new airline does what we all hope for, and starts a flight in Competition , yep Virgin is your only choice if you want London and Direct. I should warn you again , it is a terrible flight IMO and others who post here.
good news is your getting in Early , meaning the cheaper fares are still ( or will become soon) available . a quick search found £400 with a miles and money fare for 1st of April ( too early for 10th April yet) . if you apply for the Virgin credit card now that will probably be available for when your miles come through ( and you have satisfied the T&C on buying these fares at the same time) . you might need to purchase a few 1000 extra miles ( £30 per 1000 if i remember correct) to add to the 3000 you will get from CC , but still a fair saving over £525.
you may see this drop nearer xmas , but they don't seem to dip below the £300 -£350 mark unless you go in January so not a huge saving over the risk they go the other way.
personally they would have to be under £100 before i would get back on that 747, and even then i would have to think twice. but there are advantages to flying direct, if you can tolerate the seats for 10 hours .
if you do book then get your seats booked PDQ as the only seats worth a dam ( the six rows of 2 on each window side at the back) get snapped up very fast, if you have the chance to bag them , don't delay ...bag them there and then.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

eeek that i didn't know     . yep they will be a lot more expensive the nearer they get. also £400 would be a very good fare, and £525 would seem par for the course this far out. £525 each for the 2 seats at back would be good going IMO.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
MayWe have flown with NW once and I wouldn't want to repeat the experience. No seatback IFE and it was an old DC10. It got us there and back, but there are far better airlines to fly with IMO for not much more. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Maycanardo - have a great trip and let us know how much fun you had when you get back.
stoneman - that does sound like a good deal. Don't win all the money though - we arrive the day after you leave. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. MaySorry to keep posting but just remembered. If you think of booking with Northwest, at the end you MUST put in as the name on the credit card, the exact name as the lead passenger, it will not accept any abbreviations. Also, it says you must have a U.S. address as the card holder, feel free to use my old address in the states PM me if you need itThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. MarchFlippin heck, a DC10, I don't think any airline had seatback IFE when DC10's were flying. What were they showing on the centre screens, the coronation??:rotfl: :rotfl:
I read somewhere that Northwest stopped flying DC10s last January - I think with Airbus A330s?...my only flight with NWA ever was on a DC-10 but about 8 years ago so I cannot hold that against them.My brother-in-law was Minneapolis-based until recently and he seemed happy enough with NWA and he flew with them quite a lot.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
There's a big(ish) convention in town part of your dates (10th to 13th) with 64,000 attendees, so that's probably why those dates are a bit more expensive than might be expected
Hi
could you give me a little more info on this convention,we are going on those dates and I am struggling to find this on any of the planned convention sites.
Thanks.0 -

MayJust asked the question on Flyertalk, and the Northwest A330 which I am on does have seatback IFE:TThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.
