I know it is best to book directly with the hotel, but if you plan on hotel hoping you might consider expedia, they were doing slightly more expensive nights and a 241 on pappilon helicopter tours (voucher, I thnink) a while ago and I don't thnink there was a minimum of nights. I remember at least Flamingo had this offer on (others also, but I don't remember. It was worth it in terms of the cost of the tour (especially if you only stay there a couple of nights), but I did no book it because I don't want to fly to the grand canyon (they would have to pay me for it!!). HTH

I'll have a look at that cheers.

Was planning on just staying in the same hotel for the duration as obviously some very good deals at the moment but that could be a cheaper option by the time you work out tour costs.

Thank you all so much for your advice, I have taken it all on board.

I certainly wouldn't be averse to changing hotels but it is there are so many different deals, I don't know where to start. I have checked on all the websites recommended and it was mind-boggling trying to work out the deals for 3 week. I have never done a DIY holiday before.

The house idea sounds great and if anyone has any further info on that I would be definately interested.

I think that booking with Expedia knowing there could be problems is a bad idea now. Last time I was booking months in advance, this time there is only 3 weeks to go, so not much time to sort anything else out.

I guess its back to square one and trawling all the websites for good deals. Meanwhile, if anyone comes up with anything for 11th June - 2nd July that would be fantastic if you could let me know.

I have chosen `11th June as that is the earliest date we can go and the flights are cheap, but anytime after that is good for me.

Off now to look for some flights...bit scary, but hey part of the adventure.

Have a look here for renting a property, but remember you will need a car as nothing is really near enough to the Strip, and public transport is not to be advised
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Hello - I am hoping that someone can give me their advice please as I really am stuck!

    The Oreans Versus Gold Coast?????

Anyone out there stayed at both properties and can recommend one over the other????

I am currently booked in Orleans but can now get the same deal with Gold Coast and am undecided as to whether to switch or not!!!

I have been totally content with my choice till the recent Trip Advisor Reviews have started to appear (which are less than complimentary about Orleans, but majority of reviews RE Gold Coast seem very favourable) AND now Gold Coast are releasing newly done up rooms from 1st July - they look lovely. One of the main reasons I didnt want to stay at Gold Coast was their TINY bathroom but if I got a remodelled room then that wouldnt be an issue.

Also - I am aware that Gold Coast is in a better location than Orleans - ie near Rio and Palms etc.

If anyone has stayed at both then please help and if anyone - Photome - I know you have stayed at The Orleans - have you ever stayed at Gold Coast for a comparison?

Heres hoping someone can give me some good advice - thanks in advance.
    Steff;)

Think this is the right place to ask my question ...

Not planning to go for a long while yet, but something we've been longing to do for a while.

Has anyone taken a trip out to Las Vegas to watch the UFC. How much did it all cost you (flights, accomodation, tickets etc). Are there any places that sort it all out for you, for instance you can go to Florida with Disney tickets included in the price.

    Any advice welcome :)

you should also be very wary about the Tropicanna as there have been a fair few horror stories coming out about the place in the last few months. Basicallly the new owners are only doing the most essential maintance and letting the standard of serivce slip badly including the cleaning

    you have been warned !

Sending this from the Tropicana right now, Id take the above with a pinch of salt, place is a bit jaded but no probs with cleaning/maintenence. Fridge wasn't working when I arrived in the room yesterday, maintenence guy turned up and sorted it 15 mins after I phoned the front desk.

$20 dollars in the passport as quoted on this forum got me an upgrade to Paradise Tower room :D

glad you are happy with your accommodation. okay i haven't stayed at the Tropicanna, but it takes a lot for LVA to dedicate a entire article to how standards are slipping at a single hotel, so worth making people aware IMO .

UFC = Ultimate fighting Championship i assume . do you know which Casino it will be held at ? . usually the host casino has packages that include room and tickets , but you would need to way it up against booking things yourself and maybe staying somewhere nearby . also what are the dates for it , as it could be worthwhile booking your flight as early as possible. if you have any intentions of going with Virgin you can be getting on with satisfying the " must have previous earning activity " clause in the Money and miles fares T&C by applying for the Virgin Atlantic CC
