5:20am and wide awake - thats not too bad for a second day. Just a quick post to say that the Wynn "free buffets" for new Red Card Members are still working. 25 pts needed for 1st one and a further 25 for the second one and with the $10 free play the 2 free buffets ended uo costing $3 using the video roulette and the 17/17/1 stake. (each spin resulted in 4pts on the card) - Now with the first day freebies over we only need something like a further 3000 for a room price reduction .......each right!!

?Went to a 51's game last night and it went to extra innings. However at the end of the 9th 3/4 of the 6000+ crowd just walked out not obthering to staff anknown amount of time to see who won. THey really are a strange nation at times.

4.5 hours until the shops open..
hi wdyw id be interested in watching a baseball game down at cashman field can u tell me the approx cost of a taxi there cheers

    Ok quick question
I'm looking at flying with Virgin again for next years trip.....now the last time we went was end Oct last year and I know whan I was booking the flights for that trip the prices dropped with Virgin in the Feb/March......so that's when the best flight deals seemed to have been .
Well I want to go April/May time next year......at the moment the flights are only going up to April 11th and are £479.60.....
Any idea when the cheaper prices will come out for those months?
April / May flights are sometimes included in the Virgin January sale however weren't this year (they only went to March this time IIRC) not much help i know....

Hi - further update for you the deal I mention above is for one of their Deluxe rooms - flat rate of $159 per night.
Tower Deluxe comes out at flat rate of $229 per night.
Salone Suite is coming out at $259 midweek and $450 weekends.

Again, these are only a snapshot of when I am travelling, but take a look for your own dates and see if this deal beats the one you already have.

I have already booked a deluxe room at $179 flat rate per night, so it will save me even more money.
    Steff;)
cheers for that :) it's not available when i'm travelling, but would've saved me another $20 p/night - shame

i think the offer may only start on 8/7 because i tried 7/7 and nothing came up...

oh well, maybe i should go in July as well :D

they do seem to be cheaper nearer to xmas ( when no one is thinking about next years holidays) that said there is no Guarantee they will be cheaper.

download the desktop alert program from the Virgin Atlantic site , so you will know when a sale starts .

also keep and eye on BMI for your dates. the hassle of travelling to Manchester for a good flight is more than worth the hell that is the 10+ hours in Virgin's Gatwick to Las Vegas flight. like i have said i won't be booking this flight again , even at £200 let alone £450.

best advice ......... very regular checking
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

    No it doesnt.

What my idea would do is show hotels by date, rather than by hotel.

So it would show eg 13th May.....
    Venetian $179
    TI $89
    PH $68
    Luxor $87

So it would show eg 14th May.....
    Venetian $179
    TI $109
    PH $45
    Luxor $210
    Wynn $399

    etc.

Many people seem to "trade down at weekends due to the cost - this would enable them to do that and also to find the best deal for a great hotel during the week without having to visit every deal.

I agree that it would be really cool to have some sort of "rate matrix" of each date, but it isn't feasible. It would work only if Vegas Hotel Hunt pulled rates from ONE source for each hotel, but we search for the lowest rates from multiple sources.

    To illustrate the problem...

Say you wanted to stay in Vegas June 27 - June 29 (Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights). The table of the lowest rates might look like:

    June 27 (Friday)
    Mirage -- $145 -- (Promotion A)
    Planet Hollywood -- $162 -- (Orbitz)
    Bellagio -- $230 -- (Promotion B)

    June 28 (Saturday)
    Mirage -- $180 -- (Promotion C)
    Planet Hollywood -- $150 -- (Orbitz)
    Bellagio -- $250 -- (hotel reservations site, non-promotion)

    June 29 (Sunday)
    Mirage -- $120 -- (Promotion A)
    Planet Hollywood -- $110 -- (Orbitz)
    Bellagio -- $159 -- (Travelocity)

Suddenly, unless you're planning on booking each night separately, you run into some logistical problems. For example, if you wanted Mirage on the weekend, you would have to make two reservations, Friday night with Promotion A, and Saturday night with Promotion C.

In regards to your flight booking reference, think of having a connecting flight. For the first leg of your trip (say, London to NY), you book a flight with Orbitz, and the second leg of your trip (NY to Las Veags) you have to book with Priceline. See the problem?

Anyways, good luck to everyone with your Vegas travel planning! The bulk of the summer promos seem to have been released, and there are some really great rates that are fresh for the taking! Also, if you've never been to Vegas, or are still trying to decide on a hotel, check out our interactive Vegas map to get an idea of what The Strip is really like. BMI are actually coming out more expensive than Virgin at the moment
Out of interest how long does the flight take with BMI
I dont know if we will travel from Manchester as it's actually further away from us timewise than Gatwick

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I'm afraid we never use taxis so I can't help you out. It's nonly aobut 1mile past Freemont street straight out alng the blvd so i'm sure it woukdn't be too much. Cheapest tickets for the game are something like $8 and the most expensive $13!

bear in mind that Easter is 12th April next year - so that may impact prices for that period.

Also, if you flew Virgin last trip you may be able to book a miles+money fare.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Thanks for your reply m8 :T :T :T

I agree its not simple, but its possible. For example, treat each hotel/promotion as a separate "line item", eg by use of different colours.

The logistical problems you refer to by choosing different offers for one hotel.....thats up to the punter as to whether he can be bothered for saving a tenner or a ton.....but thats what this site is all about. Most people do a maximum of two hotels per visit I believe.

Id also have a "hover over" with add-on offers eg $40 free casino play with a particular booking.

Also a "what if" function......eg by selecting certain hotels/promotions/dates, what is the cost, how many bookings etc.

Also a "checkbox" for each hotel to be considered eg Luxor, NYNY, Mandalay and Excalibur are all South Strip, but I wouldnt want Excalibur to appear in my matrix!!!

Im happy to work on this with you if you'd like........let me know if you'd like me to draw up a "story-board" that we can discuss offline.
