MayI must admit to marvelling at the care and attention some people put into the work on here and elsewhere --please keep up the good work. It must be heartbreaking at times to have it put down!---Tretts perhaps you ought to change your user name to chaff!!!!
[and I am old enough to remember when we used to call people chav!]
I booked our hotel through posts on here and learnt about the $20 trick which we used to good effect and found out about the players cards maybe its because i was here at the beginning of Tretts thread that I am yet to find any Chaff!!
Cheers all!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

Bargains galore in Las Vegas
http://travel.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/travel/news/article3898526.eceHolidaymakers looking for a bargain break could hit the jackpot by booking trips to down-on-its-luck Las Vegas this summer, as Sin City struggles with plummeting visitor numbers.
The Nevada resort always boasted it was “recession-proof” and claims it has only seen a drop in profits once since 1970: a 1% fall in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. But in the first third of this year, they’ve already fallen by 4% – the Wynn Las Vegas resort has reported a 20% drop – and there are fears that worse is to come. The Bellagio quoted a rate of £203 per night for a week in June, but cut the price to £106 when The Sunday Times, posing as a potential guest, started a little light haggling.
The MGM Grand website offered three nights in a Grand Tower room for £184, but in one short call that dropped to £150, and the Treasure Island hotel cut £15 off its published nightly rate without even being asked.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Read USA yesterday. Every single section of the paper was doom and gloom about the credit crunch and the price of gas. Even the sports section was story after story of crowds at events down due to the cost of travel through college sports teams being unable to afford to run their current programmes.
In the travel/vacation section there was a huge story aobut the rise in the water level in both Lake Mead and Lake Powell ...only to be followed with numerous examples of people not putting their boats in the water as they can't afford the fuel costs!
Last year the condos at the signature were being sold at 450k and upwards. This year you can pick up a 1 bedroom room for about 75k less on the resale market. With City Centre starting at 600k it will b interesting to see how many of them foreclose in the first year or two ...and what the prices fall to.
Overall, one realty place we looked at had prices down on average between 15-20% from last year. With the strong £ and prices going to fall further I reckon there will be plenty of bargains out here in the near future.0 -
MarchThanks for the post Froggit...it made me recheck our dates for June and found that we're now being offered a Forum Tower room at Caesars so we've now swapped from Paris to Caesars...I'm excited...Caesars isn't a property we would normally stay at as we normally can't get rooms comped there.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

well thanks to Sunday Times for telling people what we already know  . however bragging about £106 = $212 per week night? . by clicking page one of the Fatwallet deals round up you can find $149 (£75) for Bellagio week nights in June.
LVA is predicting this deal boom to carry on for the short term at least , so i would not worry about landing that good offer for Oct.BMI are actually coming out more expensive than Virgin at the moment
Out of interest how long does the flight take with BMI
I dont know if we will travel from Manchester as it's actually further away from us timewise than Gatwick
same flight time or little difference worth stressing about with BMI . If your dates are Easter you might see the prices stay as is . they will only go up the more seats get sold , and everyone wants to go when there is Bank Holiday to add to your stay.
Paris from $79
stays until Sept 14th . expires 26.5.08

i'll keep up with the offers next week i promise , but it has been a pretty hectic weekend . i have just climbed around this place and my hands are aching

Hi,
I'm off to Vegas in about 4 weeks and am looking for the best place to buy tickets for the following two shows on these dates:
Legends in Concert: 18th June
David Copperfield: 19th June
Does anyone know where there are any offers / best places to get tickets from please?
Cheers!0 -
Opposite ends of the spectrum......Legends get shovelled in twice a night - Id try the half price ticket booth by Fashion Show Mall on the day. Full price is only $40-$50 or so.
Copperfield.......I would expect they wouldnt need to discount, so box office in advance.illegitimi non carborundum0
