Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
Don't see any chaff just lots of good deals-as for which is suitable for you-who knows-you've given no budget or other real indications-however isn't that weekend a holiday weekend in the US (Memorial weekend?) so you may need to look quite carefully as some deals won't apply.
Sorry I can't look FOR you but I'm an enabler not an idiot :)
Do your research and narrow it down to a few possibles and lots of us will be happy to help you with opinions of which is better but you need to do SOME groundwork yourself first !!

I've scanned through this thread and there really is a vast amount of info.

Read the first posts by trets77. (S)he has gone to a lot of trouble compiling that info. And perhaps like me you will become hooked in the tiny details of preparing this trip and read the rest of the theread avidly. There is the reference to a lot of useful moneysaving links such as :

    QUOTE
There are several websites that list offers and discounts for hotels.
http://www.vegas-promotions.com/ is a good place to start as it lists all offers in date and/or hotel order . and it's sister site http://www.vegashotelhunt.com/ which allows you to type in your travel dates to search all the deals available . other sites to check out are

http://www.fatwallet.com/t/63/704925/10193203#m10193203 (there is a summary of current deals on this page)

    and I might add: http://www.smartervegas.com/

I defined my budget, reduced the list fo hotels, checked their location (again, using the map on trets77 post), read the reviews on tripadvisor, narrowed it down to my specifications, and then asked for advise here and in tripadvisor given my preferences in terms of hotels. Now I just keep track of 2 hotels. Have made my booking via the hotel website (great advice guys and gals) and now will monitor if I can get a better deal and call them to ask for that deal.

And now until I go in late July, I will be reading this great thread and the tripadvisor one in antecipation :rotfl:

Have fun planning!! That is part of the fun of travelling.

PS: If you want a really simple option, got to lastminute or expedia and book flight+hotel and don't think more about it. It won't be cheaper, but it will be hassle free. I would say that is the lazy-option.:o

I've scanned through this thread and there really is a vast amount of info. Can anyone cut through the chaff for me and give me some suggestions for a proposed visit arriving 22 May leaving 25 May ie a 3 night stay adding it on to a business trip to California

    a) Good deal on a mid price hotel on or near The Strip 3 nights single room
    b) Any suggestions for excursions on the 23 & 24 fri & sat - Grand Canyon ?
    c) Other mse type tips

    Many thanks
    :wall: :wall:
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Take a walk up "the strip" without leaving your PC!

Simply go to http://www.google.co.uk/ then choose "Maps" in the top left corner.
In the search field type: Las Vegas, zoom down to street level and then click on "Street View" in the top right corner of the map/picture.
Click on the map and a little figure should appear.
Click on him (or is it her?) and a 3d panoramic view of the street opens up.
You can click and spin around or move up and down the street!
    Cool or what?
    Enjoy!;)

I keep meaning to post this offer (but keep forgetting!)

We had already booked, a 'Tower Deluxe King Room' and with this offer, were able to switch to a 'Salone Suite Room' room for exactly the same price - only a saving of $20 a night but it all counts :)

Bellagio offers don't seem to come around that often either so here you go! :)

We have booked PH through another hotel website, so im assuming they will just give us a deluxe room. Would it be worth trying the $20 for a resort room? Or would i need to try a $50?

I've only had to use the "trick" once as we had booked suites the other times, so im not terribly au fait with the procedure....

$20 was sufficient for our upgrade to a resort room.

Looks like a good success rate:

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

personally i will never book anything but a standard room , and have confidence in my English charm and my $20 between my CC and Driver license to get some sort of Upgrade ( even if it is just a strip view) .it worked a absolute treat at Caesars last trip

but if you really do fancy a certain type of room book it and still use the $20 trick on top , to get even further up the Ladder. it always best to know details of what sort of room your hoped for Comp upgrade is before you leave . knowledge is power ;)

CVS and Walgreens are sort of like Boots - they're almost across from each other toward the south end of the strip (sorry, I can't remember if there any any up north but it seems like there's one not far from Riviera)...any convenience store/petrol station, etc. will have them too

there is a pretty good Walgreens near M+M world (opposite Monte Carlo)

Just checking in from the Signature. Used the good old TC flight from Manchester. Left on time (as always when I've used it), arrived early (as always when I've used it) and the new 33inch legroom is spot on!!!!

Food was more than adequate and with the plane only 90% full quite a choice of seats. Layout is 3x3x3 for the main section, oing to 2x3x2 for the last 8 rows or so. Usual 45min wait at customs though definitely quicker than usual and immigration staff were a lot more friendly..obviously the change in policy has come into affect and the wikciming of visitors to the USa is a high priority.

Excellent value for the last minute booker.

Signature as good as ever, high floor with balcony and a view out towards our next Vegas stopping spot ..the Vdara. icon12.gif

hope you have great stay . i cannot believe the plane was not full though.

just goes to show. if your prepared to take your holidays outside traditional UK summer Holiday periods , you can really clean up. i bet the plane will be 100% full of high paying passengers in June and July , yet it is has seats going for a song this month , which is considered by many to be the best month of all to go to Vegas
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:
