they also only fly weekends in the summer and then some of these flights stop to pick people up at places like Glasgow , which means your probably better off with indirect with a quality airline .

where did you get the idea from that TC don't fly midweek to Vegas in summer?

I have a spreadsheet with last years Mytravel prices and have been doing the same with this year's Thomas cook. They are definitely NOT going down as much as last year. If you don't mind when you go, then by all means wait for them to drop. We decided to go for a more expensive flight this May because,

Are you sure you are comparing like with like? The site now adds meals differently to the way it did last year - ie the lowest price advertised beteen the Mytravel or Airtours site didn't have the meals included while this year they do. Also a lot of the fly-drive prices listed year have had additional baggage charges added automatically and you need to go into their "flights" section to remove them....and of course with Easter falling when it did this year its hard to compare this April with last April.

Cheapest price I've seen this year was £179 (anyone seen less?) which is not a million miles from the £134 (taking into account the food/ late ticket charges etc) that was the lowest I saw around this time last year.

However ....it does seem to me that overall it is more expensive generally
    :-(

Yes I am comparing like with like. My spreadsheet allows for those things and thus gives an accurate comparison. The fly drive base price does not have the extra baggage and meal charges on it until you hit the get quote button.

Example. 14 nights Flydrive 23 April. Base price £960 for two. After Get Quote, £1034.80
    Breakdown -
    Adult
    £898.00
    Atol Protection (Apc)
    £2.00
    5Kgs Extra Luggage
    £50.00
    Fuel Supplement
    £30.00
    Travel Foundation
    £0.80
    In-Flight Meal
    £24.00
    Late Booking Charge
    £30.00
    Economy Car (1-2 Pax)
    £0.00

    Your total quote
    £1034.80

How come I never find prices like this? I'm lucky if I find anything much under £500!!!!!!!!!

It takes a long time, and you have to be reasonably flexible on your dates to snag a good price.

    Opinions please……..

I’m at the final stages of booking my flights with Virgin but have 2 options and would welcome your opinions

    Option 1:
LGW-LAS Economy on a Sunday, Sun-Weds in Vegas then drive to LA, stay there Thurs-Sat drive back to Vegas then fly LAS-LGW Premium Economy on Sunday

    Option 2: is £30 more
LGW-LAS Economy on a Sunday, Sun-Thurs in Vegas then drive to LA, stay there Fri-Sun and fly back LAX-LHR Premium Economy on Sunday

So is it worth paying an extra £30 to fly back from LAX (new premium economy seats) and not have to drive back to Vegas (petrol costs etc) but would have to get from Heathrow to Gatwick via train

    What do you think?

i'm doing the whole Heathrow and Gatwick thing the other way around. which means a train ride from Gatwick to Heathrow for me tomorrow . The LAX flights have much better seat config if nothing else , and you have the choice of 2 flights a day.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Time for my first quesiton :)

Has anyone been to La Reve - would you care to comment?

Admittedly I haven't searched for long but can't seem to find any trailers or anything. Obviously we found the info here: https://boxoffice.wynnlasvegas.com/shows_info.html

Also, did you manage to see what the VIP bit was like. Thinking of pushing the boat out if it's a decent performance and it's worth the comfy seats :D

    thanks in advance :)

Went Staturday night it was tremendous but read about the story first. I liked Mystere better tho. The VIP tickets are ace and you get cctv behind the scenes champers and al you can eat choc strawberries.
