Guys, is November 'sunbathing weather' in vegas or should I look to go in October ? Im looking to go for 4nights...

I agree with Pebbles (including the point about no time for sunbathing if you only have 4 days!)

We've been a few times in early November (so statistically the warmer part of the month) and it's ranged pretty dramatically. Last year would have been fine as temperatures were a lot higher than average, but other years not a chance. So it's really a pretty difficult thing to say for sure and what part of November may also impact the answer...also, some pools will be closed in November - most hotels have at least one that is open but some (Bally's at least) don't though you can usually use a sister casino's pool during those times.

If you really want to be as sure as possible that you can sunbathe in the unlikely event that you find you actually want to do so, I would go earlier.

If you look here - you will see the average daily highs and lows for each day of November.

They are averages though - last year I think temps were about 10 degrees above average most of the time we were there. The info on the first page is good as a guideline, but as it's an average for the full month, it doesn't really give the full picture.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

whats the best way to exchange dollars:confused:;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Brilliant photos Mardrew!! I am soooo looking forward to staying there in about a month's time.

I am thinking of trying the $20 trick, but won't be bothered if it doesn't work as I'll be very happy with that room.

What was the view from the room?

I didn't try the $20 trick as I was banking on the fact that the hotel was 5* and that I would be happy with the room anyway. When we were checking in the guy did ask us if we wanted to upgrade to a room with a view of the Strip. I asked if it would be free but he said no, so I didn't bother. From our room I think it was the Venetian pool we could see plus the airport runway.

I can't wait to hear what you think of the hotel. (One very minor thing that I didn't like was the wallpaper in the toilet - dark and heavily patterned and not to my taste, but how nit-pickky is that!!!)

I've looked at a video of the Palazzo rooms on You Tube and saw the wallpaper in the toilet! That would keep you awake at night if it was in the room!

I really liked the Venetian when we stayed there so I'm sure I'm going to love the Palazzo.

Many thanks for posting your thoughts and photos.

January can be busy with conventions which make the hotel rates rocket. Check your dates HERE and try to avoid them.

Check Page 1 of this topic for the best advice. It is usually recommended that you book hotel and flights separately.

Virgin often have a sale on after xmas , with January flights usually pretty good.

they were about £370 this year . see link below

    http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/specialoffers/usaeconomyjanuarysale.jsp

keep regular tabs ( a few times a week) on your dates from now onwards on the Virgin atalantic site . anything in the £300-£350 range will probably not be beat ( by any great amount ) , so book it up . before Xmas seems to be a good time to find a cheap flight on the site

keep regular tabs on BMI's website ( at least a few times a week !) for your dates out of Manchester from now onwards . BMI for anything around the £350 mark should be snapped up as soon as you see it. if you wait it will likely dissapear without notice . BMI is much better flight than Virgin IMO .

don't forget to pre book your seats when you book either .

as long as you Avoid CES 2009 you should have no trouble getting some great hotel prices. again keep a once a week check from summer onwards on the sites on page 1 of this thread , but you probably won't see the really great offers appering till 12 weeks out
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:
