Good morning my lovelies xx
It's weeeeekeeeennnd 💃
And breathe....
Natty - to confirm your suspicions: yesterday my colleague was asked to return a referral received on Thursday from a GP surgery. She returned a referral for the same patient to the person who sent it in.... on 29th June 2023! So we now have a totally bewildered Social Worker, and the Surgery don't know that the referral wasn't accepted. Luckily I spotted what she'd done, alerted the supervisor, and the mistake was corrected. What usually happens is, two months down the line, the Surgery rings up chasing the referral and I find myself trying to unravel a right mess. Which is what happened on Tuesday. 🤦♀️ I am frequently heard proclaiming 'I work with idiots'. They are (mostly) nice enough people. But totally inept. And since the supervisor is inept too things never improve. And people come to me to get things done because they know it's more likely to be 1. done and 2. done correctly. Which is lovely, but annoying at the same time iyswim.
Anyhoo. Did I mention that it's weeeeekeeeennnd? 😊 And it's cooler yayyy. On my way home from work yesterday I called in to the PO and paid the rent and C. Tax, plus withdrew cash. Then across the road to the hairdresser's....where I briefly considered having an all-over No 4 but checked out and had the usual shot back and sides. Lovely chat ranging from puppies to paganism. Then home to flump.
I'm up, made my bed, brought down the laundry hamper, completed Wordle and Connections, and supped my first brew.
Brew 2 and breakfast next. Hmmm. Maybe a chapter of my book first though. 🤔
Have a good day
Love to all
Rxx

Morning all. Hugs to those who need them.
Bedding is in machine where it will probably stay as it is raining. DH has done big monthly shop so that's away and he's also turned the mattress. My plans for cutting grass won't happen so I'll probably just potter today.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.4 -
Round, yep suspicions definitely confirmed regarding your work colleagues. I don't really know how you have managed to stay there for so long without blowing up at the idiots.
CoA you really do have a lot on your plate at the moment don't you? Why don't you think about having a proper time away with A so you can totally relax and come back ready to take everything on that awaits you on your return? I'm horrified that your s.i.l. had to spend the night in a chair at the hospital..and what if she had got sepsis what would they have done then? I'm sure they would have found a bed for her then. I am really shocked at how the NHS has got back in England. I know people moan about the NHS Cymru here in Wales but to be honest it's way better than when we lived in Kent. They've even agreed a pay deal for the junior drs here, so they are now back at work and no more striking. Makes you wonder why they can't accept the same agreement in England.
I also know what you mean about carpet cleaning - I'm amazed at the colour of the water that the Vax brings up..even on a relatively brand new carpet we've had minging water..
Jazee I'm hoping I can get the washing out here, I keep forgetting to take it out the machine..lol Yesterday I meant to hang it out once it had warmed up but it turned really nice here about 2pm and my mind told me it was too late to put it out..doh!! If I had only known it would be a beautiful evening and warm so the washing would've dried.. So it has been put through a short wash this morning and I am hoping that it will go out sometime today but I am really not expecting much.. I may even have to use the TD this evening, never thought I would use this at the end of June..
Not sure what I am going to do this morning. I need to do a quick tidy up and walk the puppy but apart from that nothing major planned. I'm going to visit my sister this afternoon and pick a couple of bits up in Aber then that's it. I can't even sit down and watch Dr Who this evening as it's not on anymore
Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday with whatever they have planned.

Breakfast eaten and brew 2 supped.
I'm dressed; sploshed bleach down the loo; emptied, and put new bags in, the bins; put out the rubbish and recycling; fed the birds; sorted the washing into loads, and set the first load swishing.
It's warm but raining here. Or it was when I went out to feed the birds etc.
Oh. And I've phoned Pops to see how Babs is as she had a new knee fitted on Thursday. She is convalescing at Pops' house. I have it in my mind to visit on Monday afternoon.
Coffee next ... and a couple more chapters of my book. Then I'll WUDUPA

Good morning 😁
It is definitely quiet on here!
Hugs to those that need them, especially CoG, Narc0 & Pigpen.
I have read back, but promptly forgotten everything, so I'm sorry if I have missed you!
Paid stuff this week - only 2 out of 4 children, so fairly quiet. I had a visit from a lady with a baby for September. With 2 starting school, and a 3rd possibly moving out of the area I need the work so some posi vibes would be appreciated!
DH & DS are heading to Wales later today. They are doing a sunrise climb of Snowden starting tonight and into the early hours. They are doing it to support a local mh charity, not just because they are nuts!
This means I have the house to myself for 2 nights! I am going over to DD2's tonight as I have promised them a Chinese. Also planned is gardening, cleaning, sorting, etc. Well....we will see! 😂 oh, and knitting 😁 With all the talk of carpet cleaners, I may do some of that as well! In reality, I will probably waste time faffing on my phone & watching tv!
Ok - so far I am up, dressed & breakfasted, bed made & FUPA some clothes from my chairdrobe. WM is swishing, so I will hang that out in a mo. Then, I think, I will head to the allotment for an hour or so. It is quite warm here again today so that may be enough!
Have a good day everyone x5 -
Dailies done, dog walked, hoovered through and I'm now just relaxing with a book.Spend less now, work less later.5

Yesterday was an improvement on the day before. I set a boundary with my two office colleagues saying "if I'm busy I won't answer you, once I'm finished, I will' L was ok with that. K pushed the boundary and was repaid with 'I'm trying to work' through gritted teeth. It was very quiet after that 🤣. L didn't know what had been said but benefitted from the peace and later said that she wished she was able to 'push back' too. I can do it, but it makes me feel bad. Not bad enough to say 'it's OK, ignore my boundaries, your needs come first all the time' though.@roundtuit - delurking to say that I also had problems saying no and creating boundaries. I am better with saying no now.
Gosh. I must be a 'mare to work with. You'd think. But everyone wants to be my friend so I can't be that bad.
I read somewhere some very sage advice that boundaries are perfectly acceptable. However to those not used to creating them, they can feel aggressive in nature - but they're not. The more you set them the more comfortable you'll be.5 -

I also know what you mean about carpet cleaning - I'm amazed at the colour of the water that the Vax brings up..even on a relatively brand new carpet we've had minging water..Thanks Natty. I'm afraid that A won't go anywhere that involves an overnight stay as he is worried about such things as going to the bathroom in unfamiliar surroundings. The last time we went away overnight was a weekend to St Albans in August 2019. Shortly after that the pandemic started which ruled out going away for quite some time, either because of lockdowns or because we didn't feel safe and by the time that was no longer a bar A's mobility had deteriorated further and he didn't want to go away. Re the carpet, I'm glad it's not just me!It's been quite warm this afternoon but the air seems very heavy and oppressive and I have a headache. Not much flying done. I went to the shops this morning for the bakery things and to the butcher for a couple of bits. I made a cake as a thank you to our friend at the end of the road and as for some reason I had a lot of lemons I made a lemon drizzle cake. I meant to do 6, 6, 6 and 3 but accidentally put 8 ounces of butter in the mixing bowl. I had grated the lemon zest onto it before I realised so there was no going back. I didn't want to make it in two tins so when I'd whizzed up all the ingredients I put the tin on the scales and weight out 24 ounces of mixture (18 for the the butter, sugar an flour and 6 for the eggs). That left me with, in effect, a 2,2,2,1 batch which I put in a small tin. I had to guess how long to cook it for but it came out ok. I made a larger than usual quantity of lemon drizzle and poured some over the mini cake and the rest over the main cake. We had some of the little cake for tea and it was really nice - a fortunate mistake.I did a S&S in the bathroom and kitchen and will be making our supper shortly.7
