Morning all xx
TGIF
Hugs to Valli's mum. And to Valli. And if anyone else needs a hug here you are 🫂
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast, completed Wordle and Connections, and supped my brew.
Yesterday was an improvement on the day before. I set a boundary with my two office colleagues saying "if I'm busy I won't answer you, once I'm finished, I will' L was ok with that. K pushed the boundary and was repaid with 'I'm trying to work' through gritted teeth. It was very quiet after that 🤣. L didn't know what had been said but benefitted from the peace and later said that she wished she was able to 'push back' too. I can do it, but it makes me feel bad. Not bad enough to say 'it's OK, ignore my boundaries, your needs come first all the time' though.
Gosh. I must be a 'mare to work with. You'd think. But everyone wants to be my friend so I can't be that bad. 😇
And breathe.... YL, I'm about 15 miles south of the Humber Bridge. 🌁 And just for the record, Pops and two of my uncles were involved in the construction of the bridge. Claim to fame 🤣
Have a good day. Cooler methinks.
Love to all.

Morning everyone, hugs to you and your mum Valli
My gods where is everyone? We are only on page 5 and I am sure we used to have many more pages before. It seems strange seeing so few posts 😔
Heart in mouth moment earlier -
Was up early this morning as pup wanted to go out. DH let him out and after running around apparently pup ate what DH thought was a bread roll. I went to check and it turned out to be a suet fat square. I'm not sure how much he ate, but I got it off him and poor pup was going around the garden and making funny noises. Got him in with temptation of a treat but poor little thing wasnt happy, he even let me pick him up to see if he was ok (very rare occurrence he lets me do this) After much googling (by me) and cuddling pup seems to be back to his normal self. He's fast asleep on my lap at the moment snoringbhis little head off. But suffice to say I've scoured the garden for anything else the little horror can snuffle.
It's really weird seeing everyone else with hot weather and where I am in Wales it's blooming windy and colder. We seem to have been bypassed by the hatwave...lol The joys of living in-between mountains...lol
Not sure what the plan is today re flying - I do need to hoover upstairs and pick up puppy toys from everywhere.
I need to put my houseplants in the downstairs toilet sink for their weekly drink, plus find a pot to put my "mother's in laws tongue" plant into. Poor plant is in a broken one at the moment and is suffering from it.
Replace the tablecloth, make the bed and write some letters.
Round I've been following your work troubles - I'm beginning to think you are working amongst a load of inept people. How on earth you haven't really had a go I don't know.. You've done really well by keeping your calm.. Now it's nearly the weekend you can then have a break from them all.
Next cup of tea I think xxMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

i am pondering getting dressed and getting out into the garden to cut the grass after breakfast. I’ll shower after that. It’s much cooler than it was and if we get any of the forecast rain it’ll only romp away.
Once I’ve done that i’ll text the plumber for an ETA. And plan my day. Hopefully mum will have gone to the day centre today, i had intended to pop again yesterday but side effects meant i daren’t.

Hello all. I'm back just over an hour ago. Like YSL my short break to Lincolnshire was also really good.Since arriving home I have walked Poppet , unpacked, put first of four washes in machine, prepared food for Poppet and am about to check banking.Spend less now, work less later.6

Survived 2 assessments at work; the 2 admin staff gave me a card and some chocs in case I have actually retired - currently nothing booked for July.
Drum lesson yesterday which was good.
Last swim practice with friend who's swimming with me tomorrow. Thanks to many kind friends - virtual and otherwise- I've raised £1000 so far.
Rushed round this morning packing, tidying, planting out French bean plants and watering greenhouse.
Lots of traffic on the way to Mum's today, took me over 4hrs (usually 3). Mr N set off a while after me on the motorbike and still got caught in traffic. He's here till Monday, I'm here till 10th July.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Sorry to hear about your mum's friend Valli. I know from experience how difficult that is.@Narc0lepsy sorry you have been feeling tearful; I'm sending you a virtual hug. Well done on raising such a lot of money.I've not had a great week. It's been far too hot and I really dislike hot weather, which for me is anything over about 22/23 degrees. It was 31 in the flat for two days which was a nightmare. I've felt a variety of negative emotions most of the week and on more than one occasion felt at breaking point. I feel calmer now - let's hope it lasts. I've done a bit of flying - two loads of washing and drying and some S&Sing in the kitchen and bathroom. One good thing about warmer weather I don't have to TD everything. Our elderly friend P in Pymouth is still in the care home. I rang his nephew yesterday to see if we could call him but he said that P was feeling too weak to talk on the phone; it's so sad. I've known him for 30 odd years and A has known him for 40+. I've also been on the phone quite a bit to my friend whose 90 year old father died a couple of weeks ago. They were very close and naturally she is extremely upset. One of the two people whom I can ask to look after A has agreed to come the day of the funeral so that I can go up to Manchester for that. My s-i-l spent a night at A&E as she had a temperature and was feeling unwell and as she had sepsis a couple of years ago they didn't want to take any chances. They didn't have a bed though so she had to spend the night in a chair. The next day they sent her home with oral antibiotics to await the results of tests.Today a friend, R, who lives at the end of the road came with his Vax carpet shampooer and cleaned the sitting room carpet as it was looking a bit grubby. I had the carpets professionally cleaned only last October but looking at the colour of the waste water from the machine you would think I kept cows and sheep in the flat and hadn't cleaned the carpet for 10 years. Goodness knows where all the dirt comes from as I always remove my shoes when I come in and A doesn't go out that much and when he does he's usually in the wheelchair. R also fixed the door on the icebox and sorted A's new pendant alarm which I couldn't get to work. Not only was it great to have got 3 jobs out of the way it was so nice that for once it was someone other than me sorting out a problem! The carpet dried really quickly fortunately and so I didn't have to wait too long to put back the furniture and other things that I had moved into another room.I've WUPA the supper things, put out A's breakfast things, filled his dosette box for the next week and put out tomorrow's morning meds into two little pots as one has to be dissolved in water so needs to be kept separate so he knows which one it is. I can go to bed soon - night all.6
