Sorry to hear about your electrics Pigpen. It's sooooooo hot here. No way am I doing any flying other than food prep and washing up, both of which I have done twice today. This morning I had my covid booster (a bit late) and about an hour ago I started to feel really tired. I was already lying on the bed as it's too hot to be moving around but I stood up and felt a bit dizzy. It's probably a combination of a reaction to the booster and the heat. A friend was bringing their carpet shampooer around tomorrow as the sitting room carpet needs doing (despite being professionally cleaned only 8 months ago) but he's agreed to come on Friday instead when it is forecast to be cooler (and hopefully I will be feeling better).I had the cooker professionally cleaned a couple of weeks ago (I like vicarious flying!) and as part of that he took all the knobs off the hob but couldn't get one back on properly. It turned out a tiny metal thing inside the knob has come out and goodness knows where it went so I need to order a new hob knob (
) online but the manufacturer's website doesn't make it clear which one is the correct one. You can't ring them [sigh] so I've had to send an online message.
The laundry company seems to be damaging the buttons on the shirts with their ironing equipment as nearly all the buttons on the cuffs are split and some have nearly come off. I've had some replaced but I can't keep doing that so I need to contact them and ask them to look into it. If they can't sort it out I shall have to try elsewhere, which would be a nuisance because in other respects they are excellent. The door of the icebox in the fridge will no longer close I discovered last night so it's currently fastened closed with duct tape. I need to investigate further but I don't want to have the fridge door open for any length of time whilst it's so hot as the fridge will lose it's cool, so to speak. It's insured so if the worst comes to the worst I can ring D&G and ask them to send someone round to replace the door. At least the jam I ordered 10 days ago finally arrived.5 -

Morning all. So far today, bed made, bin emptied, dog walked, plants purchased yesterday have been planted, all watering in and out is done. Just having breakfast.
Going to clean the car next then shower and dress properly before heading off for a couple of days.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning everyone. I can highly recommend this hotel “Chez DD” 😍. Great to spend time with family. I now have to stand on the second step to give DGS1+2 a kiss on the forehead!
Not much flying to be done here 😄. DD declutterred the boys’ shelves, so I am taking home a lot of children’s books and games for younger grandchildren and godchildren.
Yesterday we went up to London by train and spent 5 hours with DH’s DSis, just chatting over an extended lunch. Her husband is not well and she is clearly feeling very lonely ( they have no children or other family) so I must keep reminding DH to ring her each week, or do so myself.
Today we’re off in the other direction to meet friends for a pub lunch. Home tomorrow, or maybe not until Friday. It’s almost twot here too, but we’re coping…. 😅. Hope you all stay cool and comfortable xxx6
