    Hello all,

Most of us have had the flu or some such over Christmas...I haven't gone down yet but coughing ominously...worst have been DGS2 and DGD2, they are both so tired and not feeling like eating, but sometimes sleep is best for flu.

Aussie...Lily O'Brien chocs are very nice, used to be made near here but have moved somewhere else...used to be great before Christmas as you could buy directly from the factory at reduced prices....enjoy.

Nothing much has happened here over the past few days...going to have another look at that £4000 site, might find something I can use as I am determined to save most of the money we will spend in Australia during 2008, fares are done and some spending money, but do not want to come back to find myself in debt! OH thinks that I am mad watching every penny like I do, but he won't know what has hit him come Tuesday next. Have done a budget which leaves us in the black, but not as far in as I would like, so everything I put away is going into paying utilities etc for June and July so that I will have nothing to pay in those months.

Happy new year to all in case I am unable to get back on over the next few days...biggest disadvantage of having a houseful!

We went to Kauai in 2003 it was fantastic,OH's cousin had a flat on the Pona Kai complex right over looking the sea.........the dawns and sunsets were stupendous, there was a super little restaurant next door gave you a discount if you were from the complex, we had some marvellous breakfasts there...............

We are hoping to go to Florida at the begining of 2009, so after we have been to France in April/May it will be a case of every penny does the work of two!!!!!

    Have a super time...............

Thanks csarina - we are going to Ewa Beach, near Honolulu. Our friend is in the US Military and he has been stationed over there for 4 years - we're staying with him and has wife and their child. We met them on a holiday in Spain 3 years ago, and the Christmas before last we went to the Dominican Republic with them. They are very dear friends and it looks like we were meant to meet them :D

    Evening everyone.

I think iv Pm the discount code website to all who asked, if iv missed anyone who wanted it let me know.

Still sat here listing on Ebay havent got half as much on as i wanted to, but have been busy doing washing and tidying.
Plus i had a major moment today in my debt free journey!!! For the first time ever i have been able to help out a family member who needed to borrow some cash for a few weeks as they didnt have any money for food for the kids! A few years ago before finding this site it was this family member that used to help me out when we were struggling, whenever anyone needed finaical help in the past i have had to appologies that i couldnt help out.But today i was able to say YES, and it felt so good to know i could help and also made it hit home that we are finally getting somewhere finacially, also they have asked me to show them how to meal plan and where they can save money!! Quite looking forward to showing them the right path!!

Right thats my ebay break over off to list somemore

  • Evening all,

Quite a productive day as far as the foot can do. Went to Morrisons and did a shop and bought a nice piece of beef which I will be roasting on New Years day, never done beef before!!

Spent 2 hours listing on Ebay:eek: DD had a clear out of her wardrobe, so thought we would try and sell the good stuff, and she can have the money to go in her bank.

Caught up on all my surveys, sorted out my finances, ordered myself some books from the Book People, £40 worth of books for £17:T thought as I am going to be in plaster for 6 weeks and off work, might as well do some reading. Telly is awful tonight so going to watch a couple of episodes of Messiah that I got for xmas, love Ken Stott!!

    Have a good evening all.

Thanks DLB thats fantastic - I must get on there quickly before the new year resolution to watch the money:D

Well I am sorted for my wedding on Monday and getting to the Trafford Centre for 9am was the right move - it was fine. Mind you it was getting fairly horrendous by later on in the afternoon:eek:

So I am going to be "pretty in pink" (well it is a civil ceremony and they did insist:rotfl: )

One odd thing happened though - I went there feeling healthy and happy and came home with a cold:mad: Great just what I need - wonder if I go back to the Trafford Centre tomorrow I can leave it there again:D ;)

    See ya all

  • Hi all, had a busy day today. Lovely and windy here so did three washloads and got them out to dry also did the mountain of ironing that has been reproaching me from the corner of the room all through christmas. Been out for a meal with the kids and oh which was lovely - no cooking or washing up for me! Off tomorrow to see the panto and looking forward to that. All in all a good day today. Hope you all have had a good day and get better soon for the poorly ones.

Well it's really blowing this morning. The winds going by the telly are to reach 90 klm an hour. Where DD is they are 110klm. She's in Hervey Bay. I hope XDIL & DGS don't travel today. She planned on coming back after her Grandmother's birthday lunch. There is no rain atm. Which is odd. I'd say we will power will go off during the day. Last time we had a storm like this it went off 48 hours. We weren't living here then. The sea is too rough for the workers to cross. Whimps. :D

We have a generator for emergencies so can put that on for bursts. Got petrol on Friday for it.

Churchmouse Well you nearly fooled me. But Mean Marie put me straight. Don't forget to buy your wool soon for you dishcloth. :D It's down on your *next year* list to do.

Some of you got really good buys from the sales. I didn't bother to look. I got shelves instead. :D They go with everything. Have a good nights sleep. Byeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
