Do you still need to upload photo ID and a signature during opening or is that now not required ?soulsaver said:West Brom Four Access Saver (Issue 1) 4.81% £1 min (05/09)Hi SoulSaver

I tried to put a quid in via Chase but it said payee not recognised? Guess it is too soon as you say.soulsaver said:Re West Brom 4 access: Santander wouldn't allow a payment - no option to override COP in this case - too early in ac WB's set up process, I suspect.
First Direct did for my £1 tester (and min opening)
This is a(nother) safety net in falling rates for me - might last longer, who knows?
I'll try again 2mrw and see if that works.0 -
No, but I already had another account - had to upload a pic of a signature though - worked well for a change - usually a pita for me.janusdesign said:

West Brom 4 Access: I noted the time of my email and waited exactly 24 hours, was then able to make a payment with account confirmed ok, also rang to register for the Savings Portal, a bit long winded but got there and received a text confirming registration. Just tested savings portal and it's showing account open, money I've recently sent obviously not arrived yet, but all seems ok.[Deleted User] said:

Edited to add for others opening this account: I chose monthly interest when applying for the account. I was somewhat flummoxed by today's security question WHERE will the interest be paid. At the time I chose monthly I saw no mention of where it would be paid and assumed it would be paid to the account, however I then read on this thread if you choose monthly it will be paid away. Must admit was annoyed at myself for making that mistake, but apparently that info is incorrect. The lady said NO whilst monthly=paid away is often the case, for this particular account that is not the case, it will be paid into the savings account. That suits me as I'd never intended to chose an option where it would be paid away.2 -
Cynergy Bank Easy Access Issue 68Received an eMail this afternoon advising me that the underlying rate for my account is reducing 0.2% and therefore the overall rate is reducing 5.0% -> 4.8% on 26th September 2024.7

West Brom 4 access. I actually mentioned this earlier, I'll copy and paste my post in bold below. The part in quotes is directly from the summary box.Snapdragon said:

West Brom Four Access Saver. It's worth noting that with the monthly interest option, the interest cannot be paid into this account so the benefit of compounding is lost. (Unless you then re-deposited I suppose). The rates are 4.9% for annual interest and 4.79% for monthly. They do say the monthly AER is 4.9% but that doesn't seem to be the case if the interest isn't able to be compounded]
"Interest is variable and paid annually or monthly. Annual Interest can be added to the account or paid into another account and is paid/credited on 30 April. Monthly interest must be paid to another bank or building society account and is paid/credited on the first day of the month" four-access-saver-issue-10 -
1.5% cashback offer now running until 1 November.slinger2 said:
note: Cash ISA is also 5.0% now. The 1.5% cashback on the card is only until 1 October, 0.5% after that. Physical card costs £4.95. Also ATM acceptance of the card seems low, so I wouldn't rely on it for cash.Bankboy said:Noticed that no one is mentioning Trading 212 for EA account and more. They have just dropped their GBP rate to 5% from 5.2% on uninvested cash but also have a 1.5% cash back on debit card spending. As well as this the account is multi currency with better rates than Wise bank on USD and Euros. Great rates for converting currencies and then using the card abroad in the local currency. Their cash ISA also pays 5.2%. You don’t need to use the account to buy and sell shares but you can if you want. My best account at the minute.
Physical card is optional and virtual card can be added to Gpay, ApplePay, Curve.0 -
Yes, I'd read your post & as a result had checked the summary online. Hence why I was confused when asked the security question today "where will the interest be paid?", I responded: 'since I chose monthly, it will be paid away' and whilst she confirmed that I did indeed choose monthly, however I'd given the wrong answer as for this account monthly wasn't paid away. The lady seemed to be saying the online summary was incorrect (a copy and paste error from other account terms which are usually paid away for monthly paid), she was adamant however for this account the terms were that the monthly interest was going to be paid into the savings account, which as I said, I was actually pleased to hear.BestSeagull said:

Yes as a new customer I had to upload both ID & Signature and was able to complete application, got an email message confirming application and that I'd hear within 3-5 days, but actually heard the following day that account was open.cadguy77 said:
