So there is not any special procedure for upgrading cynergy accounts? You just open the new issue, transfer funds from the old issue, then close the old issue?

essentially, yes

There is an Internal Transfer and Close option in the Cynergy App which accomplishes everything in one step. Super easy.

Exactly this.

I do this too, although also, if you do close the account, some providers will then produce the interest statement within a few days so you can update your records and forget about it.(Some providers are better than others though!)

Same here. I have too many of these. It makes sense when the rates are rapidly falling, some speculative openings of EA accounts did become useful at some point, but most of them didn’t. For example Zopa 4.5% is coming to an end now and I’ve never used it. I stopped opening new EAs a while ago. I would open one paying more than 5%, but there are no offers like this at the moment.

My mum's experience with Coventry isn't quite what you outlined. She 2 accounts with Coventry till January this year when she closed both accounts within weeks of each other. Until that point she had received yearly interest statements.
After the accounts were closed he login to the Coventry website stopped working.. If memory serves this was confirmed with a Coventry member of staff.
Anyway we waited for the yearly statement of interest for the 25/26 tax year and by the end of May it had not arrived. I didn't want to wait any longer so called up Coventry who sent my mum the two statements of interest in the post.

Cynergy Online Easy Access Issue 100
I haven't had a response to my message to Cynergy, but overnight the 'Account Details' dropdown has updated and now correctly states 'Next interest payment date 12 Aug 27'.
