So effectively pay £60 per year to get 'Free' Apple TV which is pretty rubbish TBH and access to The Rainy Day Saver at 5.12% AER will go if you cancel Blue Rewards.pokemaster said:Guess we now know what the Barclay's staff member was hinting at to me the other week
Come Aug/Sept (or even now) it will be time to ditch Barclays in full.
edit: I've got the Premier current account and yes you do get access to Rainy Day Saver without blue rewards since December 2023, and you will also get access to the rest of the blue rewards benefits from September 2024 without having blue rewards, can even have Avios Rewards while having those benefits.2 -
But you won't be able to have Blue Rewards, therefore no Rainy Day Saver. Cant imagine for one minute that this will go down well with customers, particularly premier customers who will lose access to the highest instant access rate savings account Barclays have.AndyTh_2 said:

Premier customers get access to the Rainy Day Saver (and free Apple TV!) without the need for Blue Rewards.Wheres_My_Cashback said:

Not what is says in the email from Barclays about the changesmy boldFrom 4 September, Premier customers will no longer be able to join Blue Rewards because all its features will be available as part of Premier

The RDS is not a 'feature' of Prem banking, it's a feature of Blue Rewards. The link above also confirms there will be no access to the RDS.flaneurs_lobster said:

Maybe a call to Barclays is needed to confirm this.

The RDS is not a 'feature' of Premier Banking or Blue Rewards, it's an account to which members of either have access.Wheres_My_Cashback said:

I'm quoting Barclays website and email, you're referring to Be Clever with Your Cash's comments on the change.
If anyone cares, that call to Barclays would settle it.
EDIT : From Barclays press release of 18/06Barclays Premier Banking customers will receive all the benefits of Blue Rewards automatically, with no monthly fee or additional cost

The RDS is currently accessible via Premier Banking. The account was only available via Blue Rewards when it was first released, but it has subsequently been made available to Premier Banking customers, without the need for Blue Rewards membership.Wheres_My_Cashback said:The RDS is not a 'feature' of Prem banking, it's a feature of Blue Rewards. "As a Premier Banking customer, you can access our Rainy Day Saver and Blue Rewards Saver accounts – without needing to be a Blue Rewards member."7 -

Come Aug/Sept (or even now) it will be time to ditch Barclays in full.I will continue to use the RDS after the changes- What the changes mean for you, as a Premier customer
- From 4 September, you’ll no longer need to be a member of Blue Rewards as we’re making all of its features available to you with Premier. We’ll therefore cancel your Blue Rewards membership for you in September.
- If you already have any of these with Blue Rewards, they’ll continue as normal with Premier:
- Barclays Cashback Rewards
- Blue Rewards Saver
- Rainy Day Saver
Even before the changes premier customers had access to the RDS without blue rewards7 -
I know it is no longer a "top" account but Santander are extending the one year end date of the Limited Edition Easy Access Saver by 10 months. The interest rate will reduce by another 0.2% but not down to the Everyday Saver level. We’re extending the term of your Easy Access Saver by an extra 10 months with a new interest rate of 4.00% AER / 3.93% gross (variable) from 1 October 2024. You can still withdraw or add money in at any time.
You opened your Easy Access Saver Limited Edition (Issue 3) on 4 September 2023 which currently pays 4.20% AER / 4.12% gross (variable). It was due to mature to an Everyday Saver, with a rate of 1.20% AER (variable) after 12 months.
The good news is we’re giving you 10 months more in your Easy Access Saver which is more favourable, with an interest rate of 4.00% AER / 3.93% gross (variable) from 1 October 2024. This is currently our best instant access savings rate for balances up to £250,000. Remember that your account has a variable interest rate which means it can go up and down.
