Not a usual spot to expect it, but Coinbase has Clearbank as a partner for FSCS protected easy access savings account with 3.75% AER interest paid daily within Coinbase website and app.0

I had to produce evidence on a LPoA's financial activity for the Office of the Public Guardian recently.AndyTh_2 said:Not a usual spot to expect it, but Coinbase has Clearbank as a partner for FSCS protected easy access savings account with 3.75% AER interest paid daily within Coinbase website and app.
There is a page requiring their banks, accounts numbers, current balances and transactions for the last 2 years.
Then, separately, there was a question specifically about whether the Donor had an account with Clearbank?
ASAICS it's a standard form, including the question.

yep it's a worry for any sort of savings marketplace as well I think when dealing with the banks, but since most are retail and Clearbank is one of only few that don't have retail presence.soulsaver said:

Chip use Clearbank too, but I guess that's where you had to deal with it.0 -
Our Cahoot payments have always been instant, with no exceptions! I use the Santander app to withdraw money from my accounts which works well for us.danthemoneysavingman said:cahoot: well worth avoiding
[[ADDENDUM: £25 cashback however through TopCashBack atm well worth it! probably]]
Thought i'd add this from my recent experience in case anyone foolish enough to consider cahoot for savings.
first, they are not part of the Faster Payments service, so you're looking at a couple of days for deposits to show up.
If indeed they show up at all because i got informed of some kind of "problem" after a couple of days. Cannot imagine what that problem would have been. I was just grateful to get my money back a week sooner than I expected.
Second, (and i used to work for them 25 years ago), the website has not been updated in 25 years by the look and feel of it. Which is annoying as the world has moved on a lot since then.
Very much like my experience of opening a "first direct" account, which they're always singing about on here - website not updated in nearly 30 years, clunky, non-user-friendly - and I din't even get a good call centre experience as it is all automated with delays in it nowadays, it seems.
Anyways, my recent user experiences over, maybe it will help someone. probably lost in this thread but hey ho!

Cahoot offers instant payments, decent interest rates and at least 60 days notice of a rate drop. Must be a disgruntled ex-employee?5

Zopa 4.75% AER expired - I just downloaded the app to subscribe of course

Same here, always instant. Sadly I need the Santander app as that's where I do my banking and Playstore won't let me download a second version of it!Archerychick said:

Too many happy users of Cahoot on here to justify this and payments ARE instant.danthemoneysavingman said:cahoot: well worth avoiding

Byeeeee! Those of us that use Cahoot are certainly not foolish, as we have multiple ea savings accounts with them paying 5% interest.4 -
Is it just me, or is that bit about Faster Payments bordering on a flagrant lie? As to the rest, I’m as bewildered as the rest, it isn’t the Cahoot I recognise at all. And that point of us being ‘foolish’ is just being unnecessarily unpleasant.Stargunner said:

It seems rather foolish to admonish people who use cahoot, when the stated reasons can be easily disproved.danthemoneysavingman said:cahoot: well worth avoiding

.
Firstly, cahoot introduced the Faster Payments service on 1 January 2012, the latest date possible under FSA regulations.
(See https://www.cahoot.com/online-banking/making-a-new-payment, re extra details when you set up a new payee/update an existing payee: "We’ll be checking Faster Payments, standing orders and CHAPS. International transfers, credit cards and BACS payments." )
Secondly, cahoot outsourced its IT services in 2003 to IBM using their "Software on Demand" model.
Thirdly, I am among the people who have been using cahoot for lots of savings accounts, including quite a few Simple Savers and Sunny Day Savers, over many years, with almost instantaneous transfers to and from the linked bank account.
