I downloaded and registered on their app some time ago, but never opened an account (I was about to, but the rate dropped). It seems I'm not eligible as a "new client"...CuparLad said:Monument Bank EA Boosted Rate increased to 4.51% (inc 0.74% fixed boost to 01/12/26)Available to new clients only. Min £25K for rate.0 -

It has just been announced that Bank Base Rate will be maintained at 4%
https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy-summary-and-minutes/2025/november-2025At its meeting ending on 5 November 2025, the Monetary Policy Committee voted by a majority of 5–4 to maintain Bank Rate at 4%. Four members voted to reduce Bank Rate by 0.25 percentage points, to 3.75%.Next decision Thursday 18th December 2025I came, I saw, I melted7 -
As expected, Bailey was the key vote. I think we can likely assume some pre-emptive EA rate cuts in the coming weeks unless the budget calls for a change in thinking.1

A rate cut in December is now more likely than not. Whilst some financial institutions will wait until the rate cut is confirmed before announcing a rate change (which usually has a notice period), some will pre-empt the BoE and announce a rate cut early so it takes place on or around the predicted rate cut.1
