You use the nominated account for withdrawals or if you want to deposit. When you select deposit by debit card you just type the details in. I guess as long as the debit card is in your name it doesn't matter who issued the card in the first place. The funds are credited to your account instantly and can also be withdrawn instantly and arrive in your nominated account the same day as long as you requested the withdrawal before 3pm on a working day.infoadict said:@ pecunianonolet - Re the Family Online Saver account, I note you say "I have the account and my nominated bank is HSBC but I make 3 x £500 deposits to satisfy the Halifax"Are the debit card details stored by Family Building Soc, or do you have to manually input the details for each of the 3 cards each month?2

Unless, as in my case, FBS aren’t recognised and you get your current account frozen and then have to spend hours trying to convince the fraud department that FBS does exist and is a building society and uploading passport and selfie to prove who you are - thanks Lloyds! Went back to using faster payments🙁pecunianonolet said:

Thank you for this info. Sounds like there's no loss of interest in this transaction, I'll use FamBS for Halifax deposits in future.pecunianonolet said:

Cynergy have eventually now updated their historical interest rate document. Go to this link, click on the 'historical interest rates' tab and then you can download it.
 https://www.cynergybank.co.uk/support/rates
The interesting one there is that the online easy access account issue 84 (no longer available) appears to be staying at 4.5% AER.
The issue 83 (no longer available) rate reduced to 4.3% AER from 4.55% on 4th March, so the issue 84 now pays a higher rate than the issue 83.The issue 85 which is available also pays 4.3% AER.I came, I saw, I melted2

Tesco Internet Saver 4.41% variable for 12 months, falling to 4.31% on 19th March, this is up from 4.30% (4.20%). It’s a good account for feeding regular savers as withdrawals are unlimited.
