Thanks for pointing this out, I must be getting slower these days. That being said the Chase thread isn't one I've been following.Middle_of_the_Road said:

I don't really need the Chase savings account as I have enough other accounts paying equal or same, I don't need the current accounts for any future bank switches, I pay everything on credit card.
Any other reason why I may still want this account?1 -
In the current environment (the rates are on decline) it is good to have as many backups as possible, especially the ones without caveats.pecunianonolet said:I don't really need the Chase savings account as I have enough other accounts paying equal or same, I don't need the current accounts for any future bank switches, I pay everything on credit card.

I've got 9 credit cards, over 20 current accounts and many, many more savings and regular savings accounts already so I don't think I need yet another account to sit at minimum balance. I think I have enough backup, it is more about any other hidden advantages or perks, which could make it worthwhile.allegro120 said:

Most of the savings will be spend within the next 9-12 months on property abroad when relocating tax residency away from UK (pending work arrangements) so it would just be another account to close down if I can't take it with me.1 -
Once you close a Chase account, you currently can't open an account again with them in the future. It's worth keeping your current account with them open with them in case they offer something in future that you like.pecunianonolet said:I don't really need the Chase savings account as I have enough other accounts paying equal or same, I don't need the current accounts for any future bank switches, I pay everything on credit card.

For what it's worth with an estimated 115 minutes to go till it goes NLA. I've held off opening the Chase account, though for different reasons to yourself. Their app isn't compatible with my smartphone so I would need to spend money on a new phone to get it. Given that I have all my non-ISA savings (barring accounts with the minimum balance) at 5.6%+ I probably won't end up using the account so gaining access to Chase at this moment in time just wouldn't be worth the expenses involved for me.pecunianonolet said:I don't really need the Chase savings account as I have enough other accounts paying equal or same, I don't need the current accounts for any future bank switches, I pay everything on credit card.

Even if I could access the chase app on my phone I would be inclined to hold out for a refer-a-friend/sign up offer to re-emerge before grabbing the account given that this would be a speculative opening.
If I was already a chase customer I'd grab the account though just on the off-chance.3 -
