I tried to deposit funds into Gatehouse today and received a message telling me that the receiving bank couldn't accept payments at this time. I thought it was strange, more from the point that my bank knew. Normally I'd just expect them to be sent and hang around in limbo until sorted.

All depends on when Barclays sorts out their IT issues, which hasn’t happened yet.

Re: Gatehouse, I will have about £7k of S/O's to reg savers on Monday, for which I had done a w/d from GH. What happens if the GH transfer doesn't get to my current account by then (Santander)- Do they fail? Pay it anyway and send you o/d? Retry the next day? Never been in this situation before!

Do Cynergy use Barclays? A transfer to my current account has left but not arrived. Really problematic at the end of the month.

Banks try the standing orders twice. 

Assuming your 7k isn't covered by an arranged overdraft, the first time will generate will a text message saying that you don't have sufficient funds and giving you until 4pm to deposit funds.

Santander will then automatically try again in the afternoon - this is after the time Gatehouse withdrawals are usually deposited (lunchtime).

Their service status page and Twitter Help a/c suggests that there are still issues today. Despite being the 1st of the month, I’m holding fire moving money into certain RS accounts at present.

Charter 47 closed and issue 56 opened. 4.48% on the monthly interest. Not too bad considering best buys with computer management are 4.7%
