To be honest I'm not really sure this is he massive bargain every thinks it is!! Why is every one desperate for this offer?? Sure enough the TV is a good 1080 hd model plus you get a ps 3 plus 5 year warrenty! But I think late January / Feb for a £1000 there will be much better offers considering the retail down turn every one is predicting....
  • Is everyone getting this deal for £899 ???
Some days you're the bird......and some days you're the statue

I have been looking at this TV for about a month now (it has only been out 3 months), The cheapest I could get it for was £899 (neither comet nor currys had stock to deliver, and Sony were doing a promotion of a free 5yr warrenty for Sony TVs bought instore.) For an extra £100 I get a PS3 and a 5 year warrenty I will probably end up selling the PS3 for £250, so for £750 I Got the TV I had researched and decided on Thats a saving of £149 on something that I was going to buy anyway. If thats not money saving then please tell me what is

Just be aware that this TV suffers from some 'problems' such as juddering on Freeview, and SCART interference being the main 2

Funny enough, that is the same TV that I originally went to buy at John Lewis. I wanted them to price match Comet's price of £699. However, that tv was NOT on the John Lewis system, and therefore John Lewis could not price match it!

Luckily enough one of our relatives was there too, buying this Sony TV with PS3, and told us it was £1000 in Argos, and they were getting it price matched, and so did we:D
  • This offer has now been removed from the website and is no longer available.

Speaking to customer services at JL in Cheadle today (following further reading on this thread that people had managed to get the deal in various stores) the customer services lady has investigated and informed us that the ps3 deal is not available as there are no PS3s available, she says that those people who have been told that their PS3 will follow when it becomes available will NOT be getting a pS3 and will be getting their TVs for£899.

And the offer had offically eneded on 24th Dec so they are under no obligation to carry on honouring it

OH now VERY fed up as this was the TV he wanted and this looked like a good deal

I beg to differ, when I purchased mine I entered into a contract with JL, That contract involved them giving me a PS3 and a TV, and in return I gave them some money, for them to now turn round and say they are not going to honour that contract will be bad news for JL. This offer was only pulled from the web about an hour ago
