Hi Safesound,
"I don't know maybe I'm cutting back too far, although I cant see that being the problem "
I'm no expert but as I understand things it is possible for that to be the problem as follows:
1) Person dramatically cuts their food intake.
2) The body things there is a problem and enters a "survival" mode and does things like slows your metabolism.
3) Slower metabolism means that you lose weight less quickly and can even put weight back on.
That's why crash diets rarely work in the long run although for a short term they can help to kickstart things.

Hey Dino, Yeah I do understand why something like that might happen to someone else, but with the amount I want to eat, and the occasional naughty things I do eat (like a takeaway curry for dinner last night ) I really cant see it being a problem for me.
I bet I'll lose this week too  :rotfl::A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
Can someone make sure they post tomorrow as I cant reply directly to the thread, I have to wait for a new post and then it appears under my "subscriptions" and click the "reply" link before it'll let me post. Apparently the thread is too long, or something. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it but its just not playing ball. So if someone could post tomorrow to give me something to reply to. Ta muchly.:A:A:A:A:A:A0

Good afternoon Skintmum, of course you can join in!
I have about the same as you to lose, do you have a goal date in mind?
If you are up for it, we could race to see who can lose a stone (14lbs or 6.5kg) in two months, by say the first of July? Might be a bit more motivation for us both, if our reputation as slimmers is on the lineand to make it fair we'll start tomorrow when I weigh in.
What do you think?:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
I've lost two more pounds - only another one and that's half a stone so I'm well chuffed.Mortgage OP 2025 £6000/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
Mortgage balance: £36,680

hmmm, iiiintersting! (said in James Bond baddy voice!)
Ok you're on. 1st of July, right crikey!!!
Better skip pudding tomrorow then!;)0 -
To be honest I haven't been that motivated lately, there was a time I'd lose a kilo consistently every week but that was before Christmas ;) Now I'm lucky to lose two a month, so I doubt it'll be much of a challenge
I'll post my starting weight tomorrow morning and change my signature to reflect my current status.:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
Come on safesound.....
I've added my details in kilos too now so we can easily compare. You will thrash me though as I've just had treacle pudding with double cream.
My plan is to have special K for brekkie - ok well Tescos own now I am money saving!!
Pitta with ham and salad for lunch and a piece of fruit or 2 pieces depending on time with kids - I'm a childminder.
Dinner will be a family friendly meal that doesn't break my budget. Probably not the best for dieting but will compensate by NO SNACKING!
Got the Davina dvd already so no spends on that - will do 3 times per week and try to get in a run somewhere too.
I know we can do it.

Okay, now I can post (see previous posts for my posting problems).
My official weigh in weight for today is 81kg or 178lbs.
I had two pieces of toast with low fat spread and a poached egg for breakfast.
One ham and cheese sandwich with a 55cal weight watchers yoghurt for lunch.
Beef with Black bean sauce stir fry and 40g of plain rice for dinner.
I've also eaten a banana, an apple, and about 10 chocolate chips (I bought them to make cookies and then thought better of it). I'll probably also eat at least one mandarin, maybe two because they're delish.
I also worked out on my cross trainer for 10 minutes, did my lower/upper ab crunches and rowed (low and high) for about 10 minutes. I guestimate that to be worth about 200kcals so I have just scraped through my 1500 limit for the day.
Breakfast +350kcal
Lunch +400kcals
Dinner +600kcals
Snacks +300kcals
Exercise -200kcals
Total 1450kcals
PHEW! I bet you're sorry you asked now:A:A:A:A:A:A0
