Greenhouse weeded, cleared of running up to seed lettuce and all plants resupported. Lots of baby tomatoes forming 😊❤️Pulled 3 wheelbarrow loads of rosebay willowherb from the cellar path and hacked back nettles and brambles at the same time. Found a fuchsia 😊
Trimmed back other plants at the front and randomly pulled soft weeds so it looks a bit tidier. Channelled @redofromstart as I did so 😉😊
Pulled foxgloves everywhere and composted. Ended up with lots of seed in my gardening shoes so I suspect I’ll have spread those everywhere now! 😂Cleared no longer needed pots, trays and other clutter from conservatory and conservatory steps and took it all to the potting shed.Battled through a further 3 wheelbarrow loads of ‘stuff’ from the veggie beds area … 🙄🤷♀️ Also hacked back long hawthorn and bramble growths from the hedge behind the veggie patch.with more peas and mint from the garden 😊 Updated my produce tracker 😊
Sore but satisfied now 😊

Two green waste wheelie bins full of front bed weeds and off cuts out for collection tomorrow. Hundreds of pink droopy things (not rosebay willow, shorter but similar) flowering around the garden which must be removed - these date back to when I was too sore to garden and re-inforce the one year of seeding, seven years of weeding logic. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

American wilowherb?
I managed to water the greenhouse, pick some peas and strawberries, but that’s it. Tomorrow will be wet, but then three nice days apparently. So hopefully I can get the mowing done between meetings.2 -

Lots of time spent on the holly hedge today but at last I was satisfied. DH had to jump on the green bin contents a couple of times to fit everything in! I've also gone round those weeds that are I think some form of geum - there are hooks on the seeds and so far this year I don't think I've dispersed any: they've all gone in the green bin. Last year I did the same with huge quantities and was hoping I'd made a bigger dent in the population than I actually have. However, I'm pretty sure there are fewer than last year. When I looked it up, it seems to be treated as an asset, but it's not working out that way.
Some brambles and a wild rose have been cut back: the brambles are new shoots that can't do anything useful this year and the rose is pretty while flowering but is growing too big. I've also tied back globe artichokes which were leaning over the lawn, and DH has cut the grass.
The exciting thing was an unfamiliar bird on the bird food: I looked it up and thought I must be mistaken but DH agreed with me and our knowledgeable neighbour thinks it's possibly what we think: a linnet. Of course it's flown off and I've not seen it again but I'll keep a good look out. I've never seen one before, let alone a few feet from the window.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
