Hi, I checked the junk mail box again today, and finally found the Mediation Appointment Confirmation email within the pile of junk mails... (they sent it on 8th Oct)
The appointment date will be 12/11.
Im also told to "briefly explain your claim or defence to the mediator". How much should I tell the mediator?

Before I would give any information to the mediator, I would enquire about their legal credentials/qualifications.

Offer £0 , no compromise, politely end the call, 5 to 8 minutes phone call, achieving nothing ( although there are reports recently of some people setting for £30. )

Your defence is that you disagree with the claim and believe that a hearing is necessary to explore the legal arguments, assuming that you need to explain your position of no compromise

Anyone settling for more than £0 in a DCB Legal issued claim is a fool and their money.
  • Can I enquire about the mediator's legal credentials/qualifications??? Should I do it?

Why not? If they don't have any legal credentials such as some formal legal training as a solicitor or as a paralegal, then they should not be suggesting anything to you on how they think the claim will go if you do not agree to offer more than £0. If you are fore armed with the knowledge that they have no right to be suggesting anything except to be mediating, then you tell that you will be raising a complaint about them, and then do so.

Just do what the 2 links show you in the Template Defence first 12 steps.  This is already covered there.

You don't have to explain your defence to some pen-pusher whose job is to worry you into being duped into thinking you have to offer money to defeat a scam. No.
