Everyone in for a totals list again? Just on doing some editing of the last one now, will put it in this post if people want that doing again.

Planning on spending no more than £260 this month which includes for family of 4 and the pets (2 large dogs, hedgehog and lizard) all food, meals out/takeaways cleaning stuff, toiletries etc. I was going to say £220 but it's also the boys birthdays and may take them out somewhere as a treat, DS1 is rattling on about Big Lukes. We've all been unwell over Christmas so should manage that as everything is still full, too full, unfortunately I think I will end up giving some things away that can't be saved by freezing...

As a matter of interest, how do you get the Euro sign onto your keyboard please. I assume you allocate one of the non-alphabetic/numeric keys, but which one?

im planning on sticking to a budget of £170. Im gonna run from the 1st of jan for the full month for me,OH,and dog & cat food. Hoping for it to be less, then if it is ~ any excess will go in the mortgage pot :A

good luck everyone..... may the will power be with you ;)
  • Hi, could you count me in too please. I'm currently paying off my latest OU course fees so need to save money somewhere!

I'm aiming for £250 (£50 per week) over January which should be do-able for myself, DH, DS(14) and DD(9). January is the start of yet another diet so I'll be giving up wine - that should help a lot!!
It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

Hi, on the number 4 key with a dollar sign above, there is the euro sign beside the 4, hold down both Ctrl and Alt keys and press the 4, hope that makes sense, have had about 3 hours sleep (working last night) and not wording things right (that def made no sense)

  • Hi

This is my first time at this, put me down for £200 to last me until the last day of January. I think this i a reasonable budget for two people although i have to confess i have no idea what we spend at the moment

I have lots left in the freezer and fridge so hoping to do much better.

  • Hi can you also count me in.

We are going to try for £75 per week - £300 per month.

2 adults, 2 Toddlers. Would love it to be £50 per week, but not sure if this is possible. Will work on that once we get over the shock of £75 per week!
  • Count me in, 2 adults 2 kids, 1 dog, 1 cat, fish in pond and chickens. I never over buy food at Christmas so there will not be much left, so I am going to set my budget at 300 for January especially as this is a long month. This is my first challenge as I am new to the forums. Good luck everybody and happy new year.
