  • Its so interesting seeing what different families are putting as their monthly amount. For example two adults - £200. No offense meant its just interesting isnt it.

I m going for £200 for 2 adults 2 children full time and 3 children part time plus one greedy dog.

I hope this is doable as we have bit left from Christmas too.

So count me in and ill update my signature to show it now. Thanks everyone and good luck all.

Please count me in. New to this and like a lot of others have said what a great inspiration for us all to save money. 2 adults 2 children ( 11 & 15) + dog. Long month so I will go for £60 per week for the five weeks.

Please count me in, I did try last summer and got so lost, I am determined to sort things out this year,

I would set my target for £250.00 for three adults.

    start date the 1st January.

I lost track of the budget months ago, what with DH being ill, so count me in please. We're 2 adults, 6 cats (static £2.50/day for 6 tins so £62.50/month), 2 occasional stepchildren, so I'm going for £200 1st - 25th January and see how I get on; I'll revise it downwards next month. Tomorrow I'm going through the freezers and cupboards and will plan meals to use up what we have.

    Hi!
I'm new to this forum, but would like to join in too please!

Not really having any clue as to how much I spend, I've decided to take out £100 pounds, and have a cash-only month for groceries. I'm hoping to have money left over, since it's just me! Unfortunately, my cupboards could do with a re-stock....

Good luck and Happy New Year to all!

That's pretty much what I'm planning. I'll do a shop tomorrow for catfood and staples with a bankcard, but have a separate purse with the rest of the month's money in cash in it.

being new to this I thought that since I pay everything by cc (then pay it off monthly) I would use one card for groceries/cleaning and a diff one for other things like petrol or catalogue payment.

I'm going to start on £225 a month (1st jan - 31st jan?) for 2 adults for all food, toiletries and cleaning stuff and see how it goes from there. Hopefull if I meal plan a bit more I can bring it down by March.

    xx
